Invasion (1997 Film)
''Invasion'' is a 1997 miniseries based on the novel of the same name by Robin Cook. It starred Luke Perry, Kim Cattrall and Rebecca Gayheart. Plot Small rocks fall from the sky which, when touched, trigger a latent virus that has always existed in humans and begins mutating them into an alien species. Taking advantage of its hive mentality, the aliens are absolutely dedicated to transforming every human on Earth and do so with alarming swiftness. Only a small group of remaining humans have the medical knowledge to devise antibodies to reverse the effects of the virus. Invasion (Cook Novel)
''Invasion'' is a 1997 thriller novel by American author Robin Cook. The book was adapted into the 1997 miniseries of the same name. Plot From the icy vastness of outer space, an alien virus arrives on earth contained in a tiny black disk. Those who pick up the disk are infected by the virus which spreads rapidly with flu like symptoms. The first human to pick up the disk and be infected is Beau Stark, an ambitious 21-year-old young man. The virus starts by giving him flu like symptoms but within a few hours he is not only free of the symptoms but also infused with new energy and power. His girlfriend Cassy notices major personality changes and an obsession with environment. The man who was all for banning big dogs in the city suddenly acquires one and proceeds to infest it. The virus apparently infects all life forms on earth. Meanwhile, the first invasion & infestation having succeeded the disk sends a signal, inviting millions more disks to come. A miniseries or mini-series is a television series that tells a story in a predetermined, limited number of episodes. Motion Picture Sound Editors (M.P.S.E.) is an American honorary society of motion picture sound editors founded in 1953. The society's goals are to educate others about and increase the recognition of the sound editors, show the artistic merit of the soundtracks, and improve the professional relationship of its members. The American Latino Media Arts Award or ALMA Award, formerly known as Latin Oscars Award, is an award highlighting the best American Latino contributions to music, television, and film. The awards promote fair and accurate portrayals of Latinos. In Spanish and Portuguese the word ''alma'' means "soul." History The awards were created by UnidosUS (formerly the National Council of La Raza). The first ceremonies were held in 1987 under the name "BRAVO Awards" and broadcast on Univision. In 1995, they were televised on Fox. The name was changed to the "American Latino Media Arts Awards" in 1997 and ABC became the network venue. However, ABC faced a boycott which forced the award ceremonies to be postponed until 1998. From the years 2003 to 2005, the ceremonies were not held for undisclosed reasons. Lloyd Michael Warren (born March 5, 1946) is a retired American television actor and former college basketball player, best known for playing Officer Bobby Hill on the NBC television series '' Hill Street Blues''. Early life Warren was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana, the son of Ellen and Grayson Warren. He attended Central High School, where as a senior he was class president.
