Inukai Tsuyoshi
Inukai Tsuyoshi ( ja, 犬養 毅, 4 June 1855 – 15 May 1932) was a Japanese politician, cabinet minister, and Prime Minister of Japan from 1931 to his assassination in 1932. Inukai was Japan's second oldest prime minister while serving, as he was aged 76 on the day he was murdered, after Kantarō Suzuki (at aged 77). Early life Inukai was born to a samurai family of Niwase Domain, in Niwase village, Bizen Province (now part of Okayama city, Okayama Prefecture), where his father had been a local official and magistrate under the Tokugawa shogunate. In 1876, Inukai travelled to Tokyo and subsequently graduated from the Keio Gijuku (now Keio University) where he specialized in Chinese studies. Kyohei Inukai (born 1886)
Kyohei Inukai (1886-1954) was a Japanese-American artist who painted portraits and watercolors during the early part of the twentieth century. Biography Inuaki was born in Okayama, Japan in 1886. He immigrated to the United States at the age of 14, and trained as an artist at the Art Institute of Chicago. He married Lucene Goodenow and had three sons with her, including a son named Eugene Goodenow (better known as Kyohei Inukai). He moved to New York City in 1915 where he maintained a successful career as an artist. One of his specialties was portraiture; he painted portraits of various members of New York's business elite, including Madison Grant and Thomas J. Watson, Sr. At some point by the 1930s, he divorced his wife and married Olivia Kirkland, an opera singer, as his second wife. The two had a fourth son together. Kyohei Inukai (born 1913)
Kyohei Inukai (1913–1985) was a Japanese-American artist. Biography Earle Goodenow was born in Chicago in 1913 as the third son of parents Kyohei Inukai and Lucene Goodenow, both artists. He attended the Art Institute of Chicago. He also attended the National Academy of Design and the Art Students League in New York City. He initially worked as a commercial artist and with advertising agencies. When his father died in 1954, Goodenow changed his name to Kyohei Inukai in honor of him. His eclectic career included being an illustrator of children's books, abstract oil paintings, ink wash painting in the Japanese style (''sumi-e''), silkscreen prints of geometric shapes, woodblock prints, and sculptures. was a Japanese Roman Catholic author and philanthropist. She was the founder of the Michiko Inukai Foundation, which provides financial aid for refugees seeking education. Biography Michiko Inukai was born in Yotsuya, Tokyo, the eldest daughter of a politician Takeru Inukai and his wife Nakako. Her paternal grandfather was Prime Minister Tsuyoshi Inukai. was a Japanese politician and novelist active in Shōwa period Japan. Also known as "Inukai Ken", he was the third son of Prime Minister of Japan Inukai Tsuyoshi. Biography Inukai was born in the Ushigome district of Tokyo. Although accepted into the Tokyo Imperial University’s School of Philosophy, he left without graduation.
