The song has since seen critical acclaim and its lyric of ''"rebel without a clue,"'' was later quoted by the band's tourmates Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers on their 1991 song "Into the Great Wide Open." Cigarette Holder
A cigarette holder is a fashion accessory, a slender tube in which a cigarette is held for smoking. Most frequently made of silver, jade or bakelite (popular in the past but now wholly replaced by modern plastics), cigarette holders were considered an essential part of ladies' fashion from the early 1910s through early to the mid 1970s. Purpose The holder was a practical accessory and served several purposes: * The primary use was to prevent ash falling onto a woman's clothes, especially since women didn't wear smoking jackets. This is also why longer holders were for more formal occasions, which usually had more elaborate dress codes. * Kept side-stream smoke further from the smoker's eyes and out from under the lady's hat, which often had a wider brim than a man's hat. * Helped prevent nicotine staining the fingers and gloves. * Reduced staining of the teeth. * Kept the thin cigarette paper from sticking to, and tearing on, the smoker's lips. * Cooled and mellowed the smoke ...

Magic Wand
A wand is a thin, light-weight rod that is held with one hand, and is traditionally made of wood, but may also be made of other materials, such as metal or plastic. Long versions of wands are often styled in forms of staves or sceptres, which could have large ornamentation on the top. In modern times, wands are usually associated with stage magic or supernatural magic, but there have been other uses, all stemming from the original meaning as a synonym of rod and virge. A stick that is used for reaching, pointing, drawing in the dirt, and directing other people, is one of the earliest and simplest of tools. History It is possible that wands were used by pre-historic peoples. It is mentioned that 'rods' (as well as rings) were found with Red Lady of Paviland in Britain. It is mentioned by the author in ''Gower - A Guide to Ancient and Historic Monuments on the Gower Peninsula'' that these might have been wands and are depicted as such in a reconstruction drawing of the burial o ...

In court, the ''Svengali Defence'' is a legal tactic that portrays the defendant as a pawn in the scheme of a greater, and more influential, criminal mastermind. Novel Svengali is a typical antisemitic portrayal of an Ashkenazic (eastern European) Jew, complete with “bold, black, beady Jew’s eyes” and a “hoarse, rasping, nasal, throaty rook’s caw, his big yellow teeth baring themselves in a mongrel canine snarl”. He is continually filthy and yet still “clean enough to suit (his own) kind”. George Orwell wrote that Svengali, who while cleverer than the Englishmen ...
