Interstate 80 (I-80) is an east–west transcontinental freeway that crosses the United States from downtown San Francisco, California, to Teaneck, New Jersey, in the New York metropolitan area. The highway was designated in 1956 as one of the original routes of the Interstate Highway System; its final segment was opened in 1986. The second-longest Interstate Highway in the United States after I-90, it runs through many major cities, including Oakland, Sacramento, Reno, Salt Lake City, Omaha, Des Moines, and Toledo and passes within of Chicago, Cleveland, and New York City. I-80 is the Interstate Highway that most closely approximates the route of the historic Lincoln Highway, the first road across the United States. Interstate 280 (I-280) is a major north–south auxiliary Interstate Highway in the San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California. It runs from Interstate 680 (California), I-680 and U.S. Route 101 in California, US Route 101 (US 101) in San Jose, California, San Jose to King and 5th streets in San Francisco, running just to the west of the larger cities of San Francisco Peninsula for most of its route. From Interstate 880 (California), I-880 in San Jose to California State Route 1, State Route 1 (SR 1) in Daly City, California, Daly City, I-280 was built and dedicated as the Junipero Serra Freeway, after the Junípero Serra, Spanish Franciscan friar who founded the first nine of 21 Spanish missions in California from San Diego to San Francisco. Interstate 280 (I-280) is an auxiliary Interstate Highway that makes up the western and southern portions of the beltway around the Quad Cities of Illinois and Iowa. The freeway starts at Interstate 80 in Iowa, I-80 near Davenport, Iowa, and ends at Interstate 80 in Illinois, I-80 near Colona, Illinois; its eastern part runs concurrency (road), concurrent with Interstate 74 in Illinois, I-74 to return to I-80. I-280 forms the southern part of a circle around the Quad Cities as well as forming part of a bypass (along with I-80) for U.S. Route 61 in Iowa, US Route 61 (US 61) around Davenport. Interstate 280 (New Jersey)
Interstate 280 (I-280) is a Interstate Highway in the US state of New Jersey. It provides a spur from I-80 in Parsippany–Troy Hills, Morris County, east to Newark and I-95 (New Jersey Turnpike) in Kearny, Hudson County. In Kearny, access is provided toward the Holland Tunnel and Lincoln Tunnel to New York City. The western part of the route runs through suburban areas of Morris and Essex counties, crossing the Watchung Mountains. Upon reaching The Oranges, the setting becomes more urbanized and I-280 runs along a depressed alignment before ascending again in Newark. I-280 includes a vertical-lift bridge, the William A. Stickel Memorial Bridge, over the Passaic River between Newark and East Newark/Harrison. The highway is sometimes called the Essex Freeway. Interstate 280 (I-280) is a auxiliary Interstate Highway in Ohio that connects Interstate 75 in Ohio, I-75 in northeast Toledo, Ohio, Toledo with Interstate 80 in Ohio, I-80/Interstate 90 in Ohio, I-90 (part of the Ohio Turnpike) southeast of the city in northeastern Wood County, Ohio, Wood County. Built between 1955 and 1959, the route was originally part of the Detroit–Toledo Expressway. Although first designated in 1959, the highway originally contained several at-grade intersections and other features which left it substandard to the Interstate Highway System until 1990. Further construction in 2007 built a new crossing of the Maumee River, replacing an outdated Moveable bridge, drawbridge. Interstate 276
The Pennsylvania Turnpike (Penna Turnpike or PA Turnpike) is a toll highway operated by the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. A controlled-access highway, it runs for across the state. The turnpike's western terminus is at the Ohio state line in Lawrence County, where the road continues west as the Ohio Turnpike. The eastern terminus is at the New Jersey state line at the Delaware River–Turnpike Toll Bridge over the Delaware River in Bucks County, where the road continues east as the Pearl Harbor Memorial Extension of the New Jersey Turnpike. Interstate 680 (Nebraska–Iowa)
Interstate 680 (I-680) in Nebraska and Iowa is the northern bypass of the Omaha–Council Bluffs metropolitan area. I-680 spans from its southern end in western Omaha, Nebraska, to its eastern end near Crescent, Iowa. The freeway passes through a diverse range of scenes and terrains—the urban setting of Omaha, the Missouri River and its valley, the rugged Loess Hills, and the farmland of Pottawattamie County, Iowa. From 1973 until 2019, I-680 extended much farther into Iowa. It followed I-29 for between Crescent and Loveland. It then headed east along what is now known as I-880 until it met I-80 again near Neola. The I-880 section was originally known as I-80N from 1966 until it was absorbed into I-680 in 1973.
