Internationalist Workers Party (Fourth International)
The Internationalist Workers Party (Fourth International) was a Trotskyist group in the United States. It was the American affiliate of the Morenoist International Workers League (Fourth International). It was unique in that it was the first American Trotskyist organization whose membership came principally from the Hispanic demographic. The group began as the Revolutionary Workers Front-Frente Revolucionario de los Trabajadores in March 1980. The original core included two individual members of the International, exiled Sandinistas and people who had left the Socialist Workers Party. Others were recruited during the RWF-FRTs "general political work with independent workers". Nahuel Moreno (real name Hugo Miguel Bressano Capacete; April 24, 1924 – January 25, 1987) was a Trotskyism, Trotskyist leader from Argentina. Moreno was active in the Trotskyist movement from 1942 until his death. The Workers World Party (WWP) is a revolutionary Marxist–Leninist communist party founded in 1959 by a group led by Sam Marcy of the Socialist Workers Party (SWP). Marcy and his followers split from the SWP in 1958 over a series of long-standing differences, among them their support for Henry A. Wallace's Progressive Party in 1948, their view of People's Republic of China as a workers' state, and their defense of the 1956 Soviet intervention in Hungary, some of which the SWP opposed. California's 24th congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of California. The district is currently represented by Salud Carbajal. It contains all of Santa Barbara County, most of San Luis Obispo County, and part of Ventura County. Cities in the district include Santa Barbara, Ventura, San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria, and Ojai. Prior to redistricting in 2011, the district covered the inland portions of Ventura and Santa Barbara counties, as well as a sparsely-populated portion of the Ventura County coast.
