International Roaming Biennial Of Tehran
Urban Jealousy, the 1st International Roaming Biennial of Tehran was an itinerant multimedia art exhibition presented in Istanbul (Hafriyat Karaköy, May 30 - June 6, 2008), Berlin (various spaces, November 20 - December 7, 2008) and Belgrade (April 3 Apr - April 10, 2009). The Biennial was curated and organised by Amir Ali Ghassemi and Serhat Köksal. The Exhibition Amir Ali Ghassemi and Serhat Köksal had the idea of organizing a low-cost itinerant biennial as a critique of the art situation in Tehran at the time as well as questioning the politics of the "biennalization" process which was happening at an international level. Installation Art
Installation art is an artistic genre of three-dimensional works that are often site-specific and designed to transform the perception of a space. Generally, the term is applied to interior spaces, whereas exterior interventions are often called public art, land art or art intervention; however, the boundaries between these terms overlap. History Installation art can be either temporary or permanent. Installation artworks have been constructed in exhibition spaces such as museums and galleries, as well as public and private spaces. Ala Younis
Ala Younis is a research-based artist and curator, based in Amman. Younis initiates journeys in archives and narratives, and reinterprets collective experiences that have collapsed into personal ones. Through research, she builds collections of objects, images, information, narratives, and notes on why/how people tell their stories. Her practice is based on found material, and on creating materials when they cannot be found or when they do not exist. Early life and education Born in Kuwait in 1974, Younis moved to Amman in 1984. Pipilotti Elisabeth Rist (born 21 June 1962) is a Swiss visual artist best known for creating experimental video art and installation art. Stefano W. Pasquini is an Italian contemporary artist, writer and curator living in Italy. He works with paintings, performance, photography and Installation art, installation. He also publishes a magazine called Obsolete Shit. He currently works with the Italian galleries L'Arte, Molinella, Quattrocentometriquadri, Ancona, and MelePere Verona. Genco Gulan ( (born 1969 in Turkey) is a contemporary conceptual artist and theorist, who lives and works in Istanbul. His transmedia contextual work involves painting, found objects, new media, drawings, sculpture, photography, performance and video. His work often carries political, social and/or cultural messages. He describes his work as idea art. Genco Gulan studied Media at The New School, New York.
