International Medieval Bibliography
The International Medieval Bibliography (IMB) is a multidisciplinary bibliographic database covering Europe, North Africa and the Middle East for the entire period from AD 300 to 1500. It aims to provide a comprehensive, current bibliography of articles in journals and miscellany volumes (conference proceedings, essay collections or ''Festschriften'') published worldwide in over 35 different languages. The organisation and publication of the IMB is a collaboration between the University of Leeds and the Belgian publisher Brepols. As of 2011, the database comprised over 400,000 article records on every aspect of the Middle Ages, with over 16,000 new records being added annually in quarterly updates. A printed annual update of new records is published twice a year. Simon Forde (medievalist)
Simon Forde is a publisher and medievalist, noted as the former editor of the ''International Medieval Bibliography'' and founder of the International Medieval Congress. Education Forde completed a BA at the University of Birmingham in 1980, an MA in 1982, and a PhD in 1985, all with dissertations on late medieval English sermons. Career Following postdoctoral research positions at the Pontifical Institute of Medieval Studies at the University of Toronto and Lady Margaret Hall at the University of Oxford, Forde succeeded Catherine R. E. Coutts as the editor of the ''International Medieval Bibliography'' at the University of Leeds in 1988, becoming deputy director of the Leeds Centre for Medieval Studies the next year. Pauline Stafford
Pauline Stafford is Professor Emerita of Early Medieval History at Liverpool University, and visiting professor at Leeds University in England. Dr Stafford is a former vice-president of the Royal Historical Society. Scholarship Her work focuses on the history of women and gender in England from the eighth to the early twelfth centuries, and on the same topics in Frankish history during the eighth and ninth centuries; also on the Anglo-Saxon Chronicles after Alfred. A digital object identifier (DOI) is a persistent identifier or handle used to uniquely identify various objects, standardized by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). DOIs are an implementation of the Handle System; they also fit within the URI system ( Uniform Resource Identifier). They are widely used to identify academic, professional, and government information, such as journal articles, research reports, data sets, and official publications. DOIs have also been used to identify other types of information resources, such as commercial videos. A DOI aims to resolve to its target, the information object to which the DOI refers. Alaric Hall
Alaric Hall (born 1979) is a British philologist who is an associate professor of English and director of the Institute for Medieval Studies at the University of Leeds. He has, since 2009, been the editor of the academic journal '' Leeds Studies in English'' and its successor ''Leeds Medieval Studies''. Biography Hall received his B.A. in Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic from the University of Cambridge, his M.Phil. in Medieval Studies from the University of Glasgow, and his Ph.D. in English from the University of Glasgow. His Ph.D. thesis was on elves in Anglo-Saxon England. He has subsequently become an associate professor of English and director of the Institute for Medieval Studies at the University of Leeds. The Institute for Medieval Studies (IMS) at the University of Leeds, founded in 1967, is a leading research and teaching institute in the field of medieval studies. Brepols
Brepols is a Belgian publishing house. Once, it was one of the largest printing companies in the world and one of the main employers in Turnhout (Belgium). Besides its printing business, Brepols is also active as a publisher. Formerly well known for its missals, the company is now better known for its specialization in historical studies and editions of classical authors, including the Corpus Christianorum. History In 1795, Pieter Corbeels, a printer from Leuven, moved to Turnhout together with his assistant Philippus Jacobus Brepols, possibly to flee the French army, which occupied Belgium at that time.
