International Gladiators 1
''International Gladiators 1'' was the first international competition of the ''Gladiators'' franchise, consisting of seven episodes. Held at the National Indoor Arena, Birmingham, England, the competition pitted contenders and Gladiators from the United States ('' American Gladiators''), the United Kingdom (''Gladiators''), Finland (''Gladiaattorit'') and Russia, who did not have a domestic series at the time of production, against one another. This was the final series in the ''Gladiators'' franchise to star British Gladiators Scorpio (Nikki Diamond) and Shadow ( Jefferson King). Diamond retired at the end of the series, while King was fired after having been discovered to have taken steroids. Following the serious injury to Panther (Helen O'Reilly) during the third British domestic series, Tilt was dropped for this series. Mike Adamle
Michael David Adamle (born October 4, 1949) is a former American football player and sports broadcaster. Adamle was a sports anchor at other Chicago television stations, including WLS-TV from 1982 to 1989 before hosting '' American Gladiators'', a first stint at WMAQ-TV from 1998 to 2001, and then at WBBM-TV from 2001 to 2004 before returning to Channel 5 until 2017, when he was diagnosed with CTE-induced dementia which eventually forced his retirement. For much of 2008, Adamle worked for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in a variety of roles, including interviewer, play-by-play commentator, and General Manager of Raw. Jefferson King
Michael Jefferson King (born 1 July 1961), is a British former bodybuilder and wrestler, best known for playing Shadow in the ITV show ''Gladiators''. Biography He was born in London to Jamaican parents. King moved to New York City as a 14-year-old where he excelled at sports, was on the school American Football team and started weight training to develop his physique. He fell victim to the crack boom of the late 70s and became a drug addict. His mother requested help from his father back in England who sent money to pay for his fare to England to escape drugs. King spent the money his father sent twice on drugs before the third time he bought a ticket and relocated to England, at a time when the drug was becoming available and he started using again. Michael Van Wijk (born 30 September 1952) is an Indian-born English bodybuilder, professional sportsperson, actor and TV presenter. He is most well known for his role as Wolf on British TV endurance sports game show ''Gladiators'', a role he held for all its eight series (1992–1999). Career Van Wijk used to run a gym in Hayes in Bromley, London originally called Matrix and later 'Wolf's Fitness Centre'. Mark David Charles Griffin (born 25 February 1968) is an English actor known for his role as Trojan on the television series ''Gladiators''. James Crossley (born 1973/1974) is an English bodybuilder and television personality. He appeared as Hunter in the sports entertainment series ''Gladiators'' from 1993 to 2000. Judith Earline Veronica Simpson (née Livermore; born 14 November 1960) is a British former heptathlon, heptathlete who competed at three Olympic Games. Paul Field (born 24 June 1967) is an English bobsledder who competed in the 1992 and 1994 Winter Olympics. In 1992 he came seventh in the Men's Four along with teammates Mark Tout, George Farrell and Lenox Paul. In 1994 he came joint tenth.
