International Futures Forum
The International Futures Forum (IFF) is an educational charity registered in Scotland that address complex, messy issues to enable people to thrive in the 21st century. It is funded through philanthropic grants, donations, the sale of its books, products, training and learning programmes. History The IFF was established in 2001, with BP providing some significant financial backing. Early work by its founding members centred around the themes of economics, sustainability, governance and consciousness. Outputs included the book, Ten Things to do in a Conceptual Emergency and a pack of IFF Prompt Cards. After the initial two years IFF continued developing through its members voluntary work and occasional assignments. The IFF has been registered as a charity in Scotland since September 2007. Aberdour
Aberdour (; Scots: , gd, Obar Dobhair) is a scenic and historic village on the south coast of Fife, Scotland. It is on the north shore of the Firth of Forth, looking south to the island of Inchcolm and its Abbey, and to Leith and Edinburgh beyond. According to the 2011 census, the village has a population of 1,633. The village's winding High Street lies a little inland from the coast. Narrow lanes run off it, providing access to the more hidden parts of the village and the shoreline itself. The village nestles between the bigger coastal towns of Burntisland to the east and Dalgety Bay to the west. Society For Organizational Learning
The Society for Organizational Learning (SoL) is an American organization founded in 1997 by Peter Senge. It replaced the Center for Organizational Learning at MIT. Since 1999, SoL publishes its own journal, "Reflections". Its European Counterpart was the European Consortium for the Learning Organisation (ECLO), established in Brussels in 1990. It was founded by several European multinationals as a response to the US orientated approach of Peter Senge with a special emphasis to the European complexity of regions, nations, history, tradition, etc. Its Journal "The Learner" and its electronic version "eLearner" were among the oldest publications in this field. Falkirk Council
Falkirk (; sco, Fawkirk; gd, An Eaglais Bhreac) is one of 32 unitary authority council areas of Scotland. It was formed on 1 April 1996 by way of the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994 from the exact boundaries of Falkirk District, one of three parts of the Central region created in 1975, which was abolished at that time. Prior to the 1975 reorganisation, the majority of the council area was part of the historic county of Stirlingshire, and a small part, namely Bo'ness and Blackness, was part of the former county of West Lothian. Tayside Health Board
Tayside ( gd, Taobh Tatha) was one of the nine regions used for local government in Scotland from 15 May 1975 to 31 March 1996. The region was named for the River Tay. It was created by the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973, following recommendations made by the 1969 Wheatley Report which attempted to replace the mishmash of counties, cities, burghs and districts, with a uniform two-tier system of regional and district councils. Since the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994, the former Tayside has been divided into the council areas of Angus, the City of Dundee and Perth and Kinross, which had previously been the region's districts. Scottish Enterprise is a non-departmental public body of the Scottish Government which encourages economic development, enterprise, innovation and investment in business.
