The International Christian Medical and Dental Association (ICMDA) is an international organisation of Christians in medicine and dentistry. Its vision is to see a Christian witness through doctors and dentists in every community in every nation. Its mission is to start and strengthen national Christian medical and dental movements. ICMDA is interdenominational and has member organisations in over 100 countries. The ICMDA's International Office is in England. Its logo is a reminder of the challenging call to provide compassionate care according to the example of Christ. It is inspired by the passage of scripture in John 13 where Jesus in humility washes the feet of his disciples and wipes them dry with the towel. The cross together with a basin & towel symbolise sacrificial love for and humble service to all humankind. Christian Medical And Dental Fellowship Of Australia
Christian Medical Fellowship of Australia has its historical roots in the Inter Varsity Fellowship (IVF) and the Christian Medical Fellowship (CMF) that started in the UK. At the same time as many other similar groups were being set up around the world after World War II, many separate Australian state fellowships of doctors and dentists were being founded. These groups united as a national body in 1962 but it was not until 1998 that the Christian Medical and Dental Fellowship of Australia (CMDFA) was officially established. The Christian Medical Fellowship (CMF), founded in 1949, is an evangelical, interdenominational organisation that links together Christian doctors, medical students, nurses and midwives in the United Kingdom (UK). CMFs stated aims are "uniting Christian doctors", "supporting Christian medical students", "advancing Christian mission", "publishing Christian literature", "encourage and equip Christian doctors and nurses to live and speak for Jesus Christ" and "promoting Christian values". The organisation publishes two journals, ''Triple Helix'' (for doctors) and ''Nucleus'' (for students), several smaller publications, and some books.
