Interlude (Saint Etienne Album)
''Interlude'' is an album by Saint Etienne. Released by Sub Pop in the US and Mantra (under licence from Sub Pop) in Canada, this 2001 collection featured UK b-sides and extra songs left over from the recording sessions for their 2000 album, ''Sound of Water''. The album was released on CD and vinyl formats. The vinyl version includes 10 tracks, and a limited edition orange vinyl version was released. The CD release featured two "bonus beats". The first is the single mix of "Boy Is Crying" done by Welsh dance act Hybrid; the second is the Trouser Enthusiast remix of "Lose That Girl", which was prepared for the track's (eventually shelved) single release. The b-side tracks are also available on the ''Sound of Water'' 2009 reissue bonus disc, while the other tracks are also available on the ''Finisterre'' 2010 reissue bonus disc. The A-side and B-side are the two sides of phonograph records and cassettes; these terms have often been printed on the labels of two-sided music recordings. The A-side usually features a recording that its artist, producer, or record company intends to be the initial focus of promotional efforts and radio airplay and hopefully become a hit record. ''Caroline Now!: The Songs of Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys'' is a 2000 tribute album devoted to songs by the Beach Boys, consisting of cover versions recorded by independent artists. The chosen material focuses on rarities by the group, some of them available only as bootleg recordings such as '' Adult/Child'' and '' Sweet Insanity''. Trouser Enthusiasts
Trouser Enthusiasts are an electronic dance music production group, formed by Belfast-born Ian Masterson and David Green. The group is best known as producers of pop and dance remixes, having worked for, most prominently, Pet Shop Boys, Dannii Minogue, and Saint Etienne. They have produced only one original single, "Sweet Release". History Green and Masterson first met in 1990 while still at school and, through a mutual obsession with Pet Shop Boys, decided to form a musical partnership of their own. Over the next few years they worked together on a number of demos under the moniker "Inedible" - Masterson's upbeat disco stylings providing the perfect contrast to Green's dark, brittle lyrics. This period culminated in an EP of six songs entitled "Superstardom" (including a cover of disco classic "Feels Like I'm In Love" and the very first remix by Trouser Enthusiasts). Brian Douglas Wilson (born June 20, 1942) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer who co-founded the Beach Boys. Peter Stewart Wiggs (born 15 May 1966) is an English musician and DJ from Reigate, Surrey. Saint Etienne Pete Wiggs is a member of the pop/dance group Saint Etienne (alongside Bob Stanley and Sarah Cracknell) for which he co-writes songs, produces and plays keyboards on stage. Bob Stanley (born Robert Andrew Shukman; 25 December 1964) is a British musician, journalist, author, and film producer. He is a member of the indie pop group Saint Etienne and has had a parallel career as a music journalist, writing for '' NME'', ''Melody Maker'', ''Mojo'', ''The Guardian'' and ''The Times'', as well as writing three books on music and football. Sarah Cracknell
Sarah Cracknell (born 12 April 1967) is an English singer-songwriter and lead singer of the electronic music band Saint Etienne. Career Cracknell's career started with the Windsor-based indie band The Worried Parachutes in 1982. Following the demise of the band she released a solo single, ''Love Is All You Need'', in 1987. With friend Mick Bund, she then formed a new band, Prime Time, who released a handful of singles. She appeared on 1990 dance track ''Fingertips'' by Lovecut DB. Saint Etienne was originally to be an indie dance act featuring various vocalists. ''Pitchfork'' (formerly ''Pitchfork Media'') is an American online music publication (currently owned by Condé Nast) that was launched in 1995 by writer Ryan Schreiber as an independent music blog.
