It was founded on October 9, 1972, by a group of connoted professionals and is considered the best institute of technology in the country. History The University began with the intention to contribute to the social transformation of the country, the continuous improvement of the quality of life and the preservation of moral and material patrimony. It was incorporated legally as a non-profit organization by means of Presidential Decree no. 2389 on June 15, 1972. Its original academic activities included post-graduate programs, permanent education, and scientific research. In 1973, the university integrated other fields of study into its curriculum. Milton Teófilo Morrison Ramírez(born August 14, 1975) is a Dominican electrical engineer, writer, businessperson, Dominican politician and a 2020 Dominican Republic presidential candidate. Milton was born and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic to Mateo Morrison, an award-winning poet, and Cristobalina Ramírez, a librarian.
