The Institute of Business Administration ( bn, ব্যবসা প্রশাসন ইনস্টিটিউট) of the University of Dhaka, commonly known as IBA, is a business school in Dhaka, Bangladesh. History IBA was founded in 1966 in collaboration with Indiana University, Bloomington, USA, under a Ford Foundation Financial Assistance Program with the objective of providing professional training to create future business leaders. The founder-director of IBA is Professor M. Safiullah. IBA began by launching its flagship MBA program. In the 1970s, the MPhil and PhD programs were introduced. The BBA program was started in 1993 at the institute. In 2007, the Executive MBA program was launched to cater to the growing demand for quality education among mid-career executives. The University of Dhaka (also known as Dhaka University, or DU) is a public research university located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is the oldest university in Bangladesh. The university opened its doors to students on July 1st 1921. Currently it is the largest public research university in Bangladesh, with a student body of 46,150 and a faculty of 1,992. Ahsan Adelur Rahman ( bn, আহসান আদেলুর রহমান), also simply known as Adel ( bn, আদেল), is a Bangladeshi politician and the incumbent member of parliament for Nilphamari-4. His maternal uncle is the former President of Bangladesh Hussain Muhammad Ershad. Early life and education Ahsan Adelur Rahman was born in 1979 to a Bengali Muslim family in Kishoreganj, Nilphamari. His father, Asadur Rahman was formerly the vice-chancellor of Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh and the former member of parliament for the Nilphamari-4 constituency. ''Amar Desh'' ( bn, আমার দেশ) is a defunct daily newspaper in Bangladesh, published from Dhaka in the Bengali language since 2004. ''Amar Desh'' provides news about Bangladesh from local and regional perspectives and covers international news. ''Amar Desh'' is considered a popular opposition newspaper in Bangladesh and takes an editorial stance that favours the Bangladesh Nationalist Party. The newspaper has been closed down by the government of Bangladesh. The Awami League government has twice closed down the newspaper, and both times its censorship occurred in conjunction with the arrests of editor Mahmudur Rahman. Mahmudur Rahman ( bn, মাহমুদুর রহমান ; born 6 July 1953) is the one of the owners and acting editor of one of Bangladesh's Bengali daily newspapers, ''Amar Desh''. He is also an author, engineer and businessman. Established in business, Mahmudur Rahman was appointed the executive chairman of the National Investment Board in 2002, and then elevated to national energy adviser in 2005. Nazmul Hassan (born 31 May 1961) is the current president of Bangladesh Cricket Board and a member of parliament from Kishoreganj-6 constituency.
