Institute For Apprenticeships And Technical Education
The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE) is an employer led organisation that supports technical education and apprenticeships in the United Kingdom, through qualifications such as T Levels. It is funded by the Department for Education of the Government of the United Kingdom. Purpose IfATE regulates and licenses bodies, such as further education colleges, to provide qualifications for apprenticeships in England. It was formed in April 2017 following on from the Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning Act 2009 and work of the National Apprenticeship Service. IfATE is funded by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), and is a non-departmental public body of the Department for Education (DfE). In the United Kingdom, non-departmental public body (NDPB) is a classification applied by the Cabinet Office, Treasury, the Scottish Government and the Northern Ireland Executive to public sector organisations that have a role in the process of national government but are not part of a government department. NDPBs carry out their work largely independently from ministers and are accountable to the public through Parliament; however, ministers are responsible for the independence, effectiveness and efficiency of non-departmental public bodies in their portfolio. The term includes the four types of NDPB (executive, advisory, tribunal and independent monitoring boards) but excludes public corporations and public broadcasters ( BBC, Channel 4 and S4C). Apprenticeship
Apprenticeship is a system for training a new generation of practitioners of a trade or profession with on-the-job training and often some accompanying study (classroom work and reading). Apprenticeships can also enable practitioners to gain a license to practice in a regulated occupation. Most of their training is done while working for an employer who helps the apprentices learn their trade or profession, in exchange for their continued labor for an agreed period after they have achieved measurable competencies. Antony Jenkins
Antony Peter Jenkins (born 11 July 1961) is a British business executive. Since 2016 he has been the chief executive officer of 10x Future Technologies, which he founded. He was the group chief executive of Barclays from 30 August 2012 until his dismissal on 8 July 2015. Early life and education Jenkins was born in Blackburn, grew up in Stoke-on-Trent, and was educated at Malbank School and Sixth Form College. Lieutenant General Sir Gerald William Berragan, (born 27 February 1958) is a former senior British Army officer who has served as Adjutant-General. Career Berragan was commissioned into the Royal Artillery in 1979. He served as Chief of Staff of 4th Armoured Brigade during the Gulf War before becoming Commanding Officer of 32 Regiment Royal Artillery in 1997 leading his regiment on operations in Northern Ireland and Kosovo and then becoming Colonel in the Headquarters of the Adjutant-General responsible for individual training policy in 1999. Blackpool And The Fylde College
Blackpool and The Fylde College (B&FC) is a further and higher education college in Blackpool, Lancashire, England. Facilities include four main campuses located across the Fylde Coast, all of which have recently undergone or are currently undergoing major redevelopment. The college is a Regional Teaching Partner of Lancaster University and offers full and part-time further education, higher education and vocational courses along with apprenticeships.
