The Institut français des relations internationales (Ifri; English ''French Institute of International Relations'') is a think tank dedicated to international affairs, based in Paris, France. Overview Ifri was established in 1979 by Thierry de Montbrial, who was inspired by the American model of research institutions. Ifri aims at gathering decision-makers and researchers to develop research and debate on major contemporary international issues. In 2011, for the fourth consecutive year, Ifri was the only French based research institution to be ranked among the top 50 most influential think tanks worldwide outside of the United States, placing 3rd in Western Europe according to "Global Go-To Think Tanks", a study undertaken by a team of researchers from the University of Pennsylvania, and ranking more than 6,480 institutes located in 169 countries. Dimitris Droutsas
Dimitrios P. Droutsas ( el, Δημήτριος Π. Δρούτσας; born August 5, 1968) is a Greek lawyer and politician, who served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece in 2010–11. He became MP of the European Parliament by replacing Stavros Lambrinidis, who went on to become Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece. Early life Droutsas was born on August 5, 1968 in Nicosia, Cyprus, the son of a Greek father and a German mother from Frankfurt am Main. After primary school the family moved to Vienna, where his father worked at the Greek embassy. In Vienna he was educated at the Theresianum and later studied at University of Vienna School of Law, graduating in 1994 with a paper on the accession of Cyprus to the European Union. Raymond Octave Joseph Barre (; 12 April 192425 August 2007) was a French centre-right politician and economist. He was a Vice President of the European Commission and Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs under three presidents ( Rey, Malfatti and Mansholt) and later served as Prime Minister under Valéry Giscard d'Estaing from 1976 until 1981. The Centre for Analysis, Planning and Strategy (''Centre d’analyse, de prévision et de stratégie'', or CAPS, formerly known as ''Centre d'analyse et de prévision'' (or Centre for Analysis and Planning), and then as ''Direction de la prospective'' (or Directorate for Foresight) is a think tank within the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, tasked with making strategic recommendations to the Foreign Minister and ensuring a French presence in European and international debates and institutions. Anders Fogh Rasmussen (; born 26 January 1953) is a Danish politician who was the 24th Prime Minister of Denmark from November 2001 to April 2009 and the 12th Secretary General of NATO from August 2009 to October 2014. Paul Kagame (; born 23 October 1957) is a Rwandan politician and former military officer who is the 4th and current president of Rwanda since 2000.
