Innsmouth (film)
''Innsmouth'' is a 2015 short horror film that was directed by Izzy Lee, who co-wrote and co-produced the film with Francesco Massaccesi. The film premiered on August 19, 2015 and is inspired by the works of H. P. Lovecraft, particularly ''The Shadow over Innsmouth''. The film received attention for its predominantly female cast, as many of Lovecraft's works tended to feature predominantly or solely male characters. Of this, Lee stated that "''Innsmouth'' was created to make Lovecraft roll over in his grave a little by having the cast 98% female and switching the gender roles.” Synopsis Detective Olmstead has arrived on a peculiar crime scene, with a body that has both a bite wound and an egg sac on her back. Izzy Lee
Izzy Lee is an American filmmaker and writer, known for her short films ''Re-Home'' (2019), ''The Obliteration of the Chickens'' (2019), ''My Monster'' (2018), and ''Innsmouth'', which she produced through her company Nihil Noctem. She has written for multiple outlets such as ''Birth.Movies.Death'', '' Rue Morgue'', '' TwitchFilm'', and ''Fangoria'' and has also helped program and curate film festivals like the Boston Underground and the Boston Sci-Fi Fest. Lee began showing an interest in horror in kindergarten and later attended the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, where she received a BFA in illustration. She initially started as an actor and writer, but branched out into filmmaking in order to "see if I could do it". The GenreBlast Film Festival is an annual event held in the Winchester, Virginia area that specializes in genre film. GenreBlast is the largest genre film festival in the Washington, D.C. region, spotlighting short and feature films that are typically independently produced and would not otherwise receive theatrical release. History Started in 2016, by Nathan Ludwig, Chad Farmer, and Charles Hill, the first annual GenreBlast Film Festival took place in August 2016 in Culpeper, Virginia at the now defunct State Theatre. Cthulhu is a fictional cosmic entity created by writer H. P. Lovecraft. It was first introduced in his short story " The Call of Cthulhu", published by the American pulp magazine '' Weird Tales'' in 1928. Tristan Risk, also known as Little Miss Risk, is a Canadian film actress, known for her roles in horror films such as ''American Mary'', '' Ayla'', and ''Aliens Ate My Homework''.
