Innovation, Universities, Science And Skills Select Committee
The Innovation, Universities, Science and Skills Select Committee was a select committee of the House of Commons in the Parliament of the United Kingdom. The remit of the Committee was to examine the expenditure, administration and policy of the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills, any associated public bodies and the government office for science. The committee was dissolved on 30 September 2009 and replaced by the Business, Innovation and Skills Select Committee following the merging of the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills into the new Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. The committee was officially replaced by the Science and Technology Select Committee, which was re-established on 1 October 2009 and is made up of the same membership as the old Innovation, Universities, Science and Skills select committee. Brigg and Goole is a constituency in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2010 by Andrew Percy, a Conservative. Castle Point (UK Parliament Constituency)
Castle Point is a local government district with borough status in south Essex, east of central London. The borough comprises the towns and villages of Canvey Island, Hadleigh, South Benfleet, and Thundersley. The borough council is situated at Thundersley. The national land use tables published by MHCLG show that in 2017, the 56.6% of the borough was covered by green spaces including agriculture, forest and open land, water and outdoor recreation spaces. An independent or non-partisan politician is a politician not affiliated with any political party or bureaucratic association. There are numerous reasons why someone may stand for office as an independent. Bob Spink
Robert Michael Spink (born 1 August 1948, in Haworth, Worth Valley, Yorkshire) is a former member of parliament (MP) for Castle Point in Essex (1992 to 1997, and 2001 to 2010) who was convicted of electoral fraud in 2017. Spink was elected as the Conservative Party MP for Castle Point in 1992, lost his seat in 1997, but regained it in 2001. Having resigned the Conservative whip in March 2008, in April 2008 he defected to the UK Independence Party (UKIP), becoming that party's first MP. In November 2008, he became an independent. Standing as an independent, he lost his seat in the 2010 election to the Conservative candidate, Rebecca Harris. Spink subsequently rejoined UKIP. Brian Iddon (born 5 July 1940) is a British Labour Party politician, who was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bolton South East from 1997 to 2010. Early life Born in Tarleton, Lancashire and attended the village's Church of England Primary School, Christ Church Boys' School, Southport and the Southport Technical College (now Southport College). Evan Leslie Harris (born 21 October 1965) is a British Liberal Democrat politician.
