Five Inki cartoons were made between 1939 and 1950. History and description Inki, created for Warner Bros.' ''Inki and the Minah Bird'' is a 1943 '' Merrie Melodies'' short directed by Chuck Jones. The short features Inki and was released on November 13, 1943. Plot Inki is an African child who runs into a denture-wearing lion while hunting with a spear. The lion then chases the young native all over the place. The minah bird joins forces with Inki against the mighty lion, but proceeds to mess everything up for all. The Hebrides (overture)
''The Hebrides'' (; german: Die Hebriden) is a concert overture that was composed by Felix Mendelssohn in 1830, revised in 1832, and published the next year as Mendelssohn's Op. 26. Some consider it an early tone poem. It was inspired by one of Mendelssohn's trips to the British Isles, specifically an 1829 excursion to the Scottish island of Staffa, with its basalt sea cave known as Fingal's Cave. It was reported that the composer immediately jotted down the opening theme for his composition after seeing the island. He at first called the work ''To the Lonely Island'' or ''Zur einsamen Insel'', but then settled on the present title. However, in 1834, the year after the first publication, Breitkopf & Härtel issued an edition with the name ''Fingalshöhle'' (Fingal's Cave) and this title stuck, causing some confusion. This short was the first of a series of five films featuring the Inki and mynah bird characters. ''Merrie Melodies'' is an American animation, animated series of comedy short films produced by Warner Bros. starting in 1931, during the golden age of American animation, and ending in 1969. Then some new cartoons were produced from the late 1970s to the late 1990s, as well as other made productions beginning in 1972. As with its sister series, ''Looney Tunes'', it featured cartoon characters such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, and Elmer Fudd. Between 1934 and 1943, the ''Merrie Melodies'' series were distinguished from the black-and-white, Buddy (Looney Tunes), Buddy or Porky Pig–starring ''Looney Tunes'' shorts by an emphasis on one-shot stories in color featuring Warner Bros.–owned musical selections. Bugs Bunny is an animated cartoon character created in the late 1930s by Leon Schlesinger Productions (later Warner Bros. Cartoons) and voiced originally by Mel Blanc. Charles "Charlie" Gustav Thorson (29 August 1890 – 7 August 1966) was a Canadian political cartoonist, character designer, children's book author and illustrator. Thorson is best known as the man who designed an early version of the then yet unnamed Bugs Bunny. Don Markstein's Toonopedia (subtitled A Vast Repository of Toonological Knowledge) is an online encyclopedia of print cartoons, comic strips and animation, initiated February 13, 2001. Donald D. Markstein, the sole writer and editor of Toonopedia, termed it "the world's first hypertext encyclopedia of toons" and stated, "The basic idea is to cover the entire spectrum of American cartoonery." Markstein began the project during 1999 with several earlier titles: he changed Don's Cartoon Encyberpedia (1999) to Don Markstein's Cartoonopedia (2000) after learning the word "Encyberpedia" had been trademarked. During 2001, he settled on his final title, noting, "Decided (after thinking about it for several weeks) to change the name of the site to Don Markstein's Toonopedia, rather than Cartoonopedia. ''Wise Quackers'' is a 1949 Warner Bros. ''Looney Tunes'' cartoon directed by Friz Freleng. The film was released on January 1, 1949, and stars Daffy Duck and Elmer Fudd. The short's title should not be confused with the 1939 Bob Clampett short ''Wise Quacks''. Plot In a cold setting, the scene shows a Bird migration, migrating group of birds flying south. Far away from the line, is a weary Daffy Duck doubting himself that he'll manage to make it there. He finally succumbs to the harsh climate and begins diving into the farm of Elmer Fudd, dressed in his hunter attire. Jakob Ludwig Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (3 February 18094 November 1847), born and widely known as Felix Mendelssohn, was a German composer, pianist, organist and conductor of the early Romantic period.
