Inhuman Kiss
''Inhuman Kiss'' ( th, แสงกระสือ), also known as ''Krasue: Inhuman Kiss'', is a 2019 Thai supernatural horror film directed by Sitisiri Mongkolsiri. It was selected as the Thai entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards, but was not nominated. In 1940s Thailand, a ''krasue'' lives a normal life by day, but at night her detached head seeks out flesh and blood. Plot The film starts with four children Jerd, Sai, Noi and Ting. They go to the forest to play hide and seek. Noi and Sai decide to hide inside the house that supposedly contains the spirit of a Krasue that protects the forest. Sai encounters a krasue inside the box she decides to hide in. The scene is fast forwarded to the time when the four friends are in their teens. Sai and Jerd are in Thailand while Noi is in Bangkok pursuing his medical training. Chukiat Sakveerakul
Chookiat Sakveerakul ( th, ชูเกียรติ ศักดิ์วีระกุล, ), born 1981 in Chiang Mai, Thailand) is a Thai film director and screenwriter. He is also credited as Ma-Deaw Chukiatsakwirakul or Matthew Chukiat Sakwirakul. Chookiat's first feature-length film was an ensemble drama, ''The Passenger of Li'', which was an independent production. His next film was ''Pisaj'', a 2004 horror film produced by Sahamongkol Film International. Chookiat garnered critical acclaim for this next film, '' 13 Beloved'', a gritty drama about a deadly underground reality television game, which won several awards in Thailand and from film festivals. The Kingdom of Thailand has submitted films for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film since 1984, when it became the second independent nation in Southeast Asia to join the competition, after the Philippines. The award is given annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue. To date Thailand has submitted twenty-four films to AMPAS for Oscar consideration but thus far no Thai candidate has received an Oscar nomination. Four submissions were directed by Chatrichalerm Yukol, a member of the Thai nobility, and four were directed by Pen-Ek Ratanaruang. The award is presented annually by the Academy to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue. The International Feature Film Award Committee oversees the process and reviews all the submitted films. The category was previously called the Best Foreign Language Film, but this was changed in April 2019 to Best International Feature Film, after the Academy deemed the word "Foreign" to be outdated.
