Ingvald B. Aase
Ingvald Berentin Aase (5 February 1882 – 23 May 1948) was a Norwegian trade unionist and politician for the Labour and the Communist parties. He was born in Bergen as a son of Baste Olsen Aase (1850–1936) and Marta Mundal (1852–1895). He had basic education before taking painter training, and he received a craftsman burghership in 1907. He was the manager of the cooperative Bergens Malerverksted from 1914 to 1923. He chaired the union ''Malersvennenes forening'' in Bergen from 1912 to 1916, and ''Bergen faglige samorg'' in 1917. He was a member of Bergen city council from 1916 to 1933, from 1919 to 1931 in the executive committee. From 1921 to 1928 he chaired the local branch of his parties. He was elected to the Parliament of Norway from Bergen in 1921, 1924 and 1927. Midway in his first term he changed allegiance from the Labour Party to the Communist Party. Norwegian Union Of Building Industry Workers
The Norwegian Union of Building Industry Workers ( no, Norsk Bygningsindustriarbeiderforbund, NBIAF) was a trade union in Norway, organized under the national Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions. It was founded in 1923 as the Norwegian Union of Building Workers ( no, Norsk Bygningsarbeiderforbund). It was a merger between the Norwegian Union of Painters, the Wood Workers' Union of Norway, and relevant sections of the Norwegian Union of General Workers. When it was merged with Norwegian Union of Planing Workers (established 1911) in 1949, it changed its name to the Norwegian Union of Building Industry Workers. In 1961 it absorbed Norwegian Union of Stone Industry Workers (established 1896) and in 1976 it absorbed Norwegian Union of Bricklayers. ''Arbeidet'' ("The Work") was a Norwegian newspaper, published in Bergen in Hordaland county. History and profile ''Arbeidet'' was started in Bergen as a socialist newspaper on 6 December 1893, by a grouping called . It was the first socialist daily newspaper in Norway. The first editor was Johan Frogner; Henrik Martin Olofsson edited the newspaper around 1899, and noted editor Ivar Angell-Olsen assumed office in 1904. A former editor of ''Ny Tid'', he introduced a degree of sensationalism in the newspaper and increased its circulation. In 1905, the newspaper got a formal tie to the Norwegian Labour Party in Bergen. Angell-Olsen remained editor until January 1914, when he left with immediate effect.
