Ingrid Timková
Ingrid Timková (born January 17, 1967, in ČSSR) is a Slovak actress. She is most notable for appearing in the first Czech- Slovak film produced after the dissolution of Czechoslovakia, ''Anjel Milosrdenstva'' ( en, The Angel of Mercy, 1993), directed by Miloslav Luther. The role of Anežka brought Timková the Magnolia Award at the 5th Shanghai TV Festival in 1994 as Best Actress in a Television Film. Biography Timková was born in Sečovce, formerly Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, as the second descendant of then mother-teacher and father who was a device/traffic chief. She attended the Gymnasium (class of 85') in Trebišov, and continued with study of acting at the Slovak Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. As a protégée of director Vladimír Strnisko, she became a member of the Slovak National Theatre's ensemble after graduating in 1990. Sečovce
Sečovce (; hu, Gálszécs; uk, Сечівці) is a town in the Trebišov District in the Košice Region of south-eastern Slovakia. History The town was first mentioned in year 1255 on the list of king Béla IV of Hungary. In 1494, a Roman Catholic church was built in the Gothic architecture style. ''Up and Down'' ( cs, Horem pádem) is a 2004 Czech comedy film directed by Jan Hřebejk. The film first premiered in France at the Cannes Film Market on May 19, 2004. The film was the Czech Republic's submission to the 77th Academy Awards for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, but was not accepted as a nominee. Plot Milan and Goran are two criminals who smuggle illegal immigrants. One night after they complete a smuggle, they discover that one of the immigrants has left a baby behind. Vojtěch Jasný
Vojtěch Jasný (30 November 1925 – 15 November 2019) was a Czech director, screenwriter and professor who has written and directed over 50 films. Jasný made feature and documentary films in Czechoslovakia, Germany, Austria, USA & Canada, and was a notable figure in the Czechoslovak New Wave movement of the 1960s. He is best remembered for his movies ''The Cassandra Cat'' and ''All My Compatriots'', both of which won prizes at Cannes Film Festival. In addition to his film career, he taught directing at film schools in Salzburg, Vienna, Munich and New York. Life Jasný was born in Kelč, Czechoslovakia on 30 November 1925. Samuel Shepard Rogers III (November 5, 1943 – July 27, 2017) was an American actor, playwright, author, screenwriter, and director whose career spanned half a century.
