Ingram FBM
The FBM assault rifle (Fusil Automatico FBM) is an assault rifle manufactured by FBM of Bolivia. The weapon was designed around the IMI Galil and the Stoner 63. The FBM was designed by Gordon Ingram and manufactured by Fabrica Boliviana de Municiones in the 1990s. It was designed for ease of cost/manufacture and with limited equipment such as lathes/mills etc. Although the design uses various combat proven design components, it is not known if the weapon was manufactured and if any more info is available. Design The FBM assault rifle uses designs from the IMI Galil and the Stoner 63. It uses 5.56×45mm NATO (Galil/STANAG magazines) and 7.62×39mm M43 rounds (AK47 magazines) and exists in Rifle/Carbine/SMG layouts. Components are made from 4130 and 8620 chrome molybdenum heat treated alloy steel for durability. Gas-operation is a system of operation used to provide energy to operate locked breech, autoloading firearms. In gas-operation, a portion of high-pressure gas from the cartridge being fired is used to power a mechanism to dispose of the spent case and insert a new cartridge into the chamber. Energy from the gas is harnessed through either a port in the barrel or a trap at the muzzle. Rotating Bolt
Rotating bolt is a method of locking the breech (or rear barrel) of a firearm closed for firing. Johann Nicolaus von Dreyse developed the first rotating bolt firearm, the "Dreyse needle gun", in 1836. IMI Galil
The IMI Galil ( he, גליל) is a family of Israeli-made automatic rifles chambered for the 5.56×45mm NATO and 7.62×51mm NATO cartridges. Stoner 63
The Stoner 63 is a 5.56×45mm NATO modular weapon system. Gordon Ingram
Gordon Bailey Ingram (December 30, 1924 – November 4, 2004) was an American inventor and entrepreneur. Along with Mitchell WerBell III, he founded Military Armament Corporation. Ingram was the creator of the MAC-10 and MAC-11 machine pistols, and is widely credited with repopularizing the submachine gun. Biography Gordon B. Ingram was born in Los Angeles, California. His first foray into the weapons design world was during his years of service in the United States Army.
