Oxa (formerly Oxbotica) is an autonomous vehicle software company, headquartered in Oxfordshire, England, and founded by Paul Newman and Ingmar Posner. History In 2013, Newman and Posner led the RobotCar UK project as part of Oxford University's Department of Engineering Science Mobile Robotics Group. A scaleup company or just scaleup is defined by the OECD as a company having an average annualized return of at least 20% in the past 3 years, and had at least 10 employees at the start of the 3 year period. A scaleup can be identified as being in the "growth phase" life-cycle in the Millers and Friesen life cycle theorem, or the "Direction phase" in the Greiner growth curve. The importance of scaleups and the rise of their terminology according to the World Economic Forum is that, although not all startups make it big, the ones that do greatly impact society by means of new technology, services and increased employment. LUTZ Pathfinder
The LUTZ Pathfinder is a prototype autonomous microcar. The two-seater prototype pod has been built by Coventry-based RDM Group, and was first shown to the public in February 2015. The LUTZ (Low-carbon Urban Transport Zone) Pathfinder pod is part of the UK Government's Transport Systems Catapult Autodrive project, a £20 million project. Three pods were tested initially in Milton Keynes during 2015 to ensure that they can comply with the Highway Code. Specification The pod is a two-seater electric car with space for luggage.
