Inge Thun
Inge Thun (17 June 1945 − 15 February 2008) was a Norwegian football goalkeeper and bandy winger who played for Strømsgodset IF in both sports. He finished his football career with a few seasons across the river at Drammens Ballklubb. He won the Norwegian football league with Strømsgodset in 1970 as well the Cup in 1969, 1970 and 1973. He also became Norwegian bandy champion six times with Strømsgodset and won a silver medal in the 1965 Bandy World Championship with the national team. Thun became famous in England when his team lost 0-11 to Liverpool in the 1975 Cup Winners' Cup. Inge Thun died on 15 February 2008, after suffering a stroke. Drammen
Drammen () is a city and municipality in Viken (county), Viken, Norway. The port and river city of Drammen is centrally located in the south-eastern and most populated part of Norway. Drammen municipality also includes smaller towns and villages such as Konnerud, Svelvik, Mjøndalen and Skoger. Location Drammen is located west of the Oslofjord and is situated approximately 44 km South-west of Oslo. There are more than 101 000 inhabitants in the municipality, but the city is the regional capital of an area with 82 000 inhabitants. UEFA Cup Winners' Cup
The UEFA Cup Winners' Cup was a European football club competition contested annually by the winners of domestic cup competitions. The cup was, chronologically, the second seasonal inter-European club competition organised by UEFA. The tournament ran for 39 seasons, with the final edition held in 1998–99, after which it was discontinued. The first tournament was held in 1960–61, but it was organised by the Mitropa Cup's Organising Committee and not recognised by the governing body of European football until 1963, when it was accepted as a UEFA competition on the initiative of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC). From 1972 onwards, the winner of the tournament progressed to play the winner of the European Cup (later the UEFA Champions League) in the European Super Cup. Strømsgodset is a former municipality in Vestfold county (from 1964 Buskerud county), Norway, today a part of the city of Drammen. History Strømsgodset was originally a small rural annex to the city parish of Bragernes (Drammen). But since this annex belonged to the county of Vestfold, while the city belonged to the county of Buskerud, it had to be established as a formannskapsdistrikt of its own January 1, 1838. (The law of ''formannskapsdistrikt'' also required a division between cities and rural districts.) The small size of this ''formannskapsdistrikt'' was, however, a problem - and it had to be merged with the larger municipality of Skoger January 1, 1844. ''Drammens Tidende'' is a Norwegian Bokmål language newspaper published in Drammen, Norway. History and profile The former ''Drammens Tidende'' dates back to 2 January 1832, when it was known as ''Tiden'', taking the new name in thirteen years later. ''Buskerud Blad'' dates back to 3 July 1883 when it was founded as a conservative alternative to ''Drammens Tidende'' and '' Drammens Blad'', which were both pro-liberal. ''BB'' and ''DT'' merged into one company in 1897 after ''DT'' was bought by the owner of ''BB'', Axel Lyche. In 1901 Axel Raknerud, the editor of ''BB'' since 1884, also became the editor of ''Drammens Tidende''. However, the newspapers remained separate publications, although with the same staff. Not until 1 February 1961 were they united in a common publication and company. Stroke
A stroke is a medical condition in which poor blood flow to the brain causes cell death. There are two main types of stroke: ischemic, due to lack of blood flow, and hemorrhagic, due to bleeding. Both cause parts of the brain to stop functioning properly. Signs and symptoms of a stroke may include an inability to move or feel on one side of the body, problems understanding or speaking, dizziness, or loss of vision to one side. Norway National Bandy Team
Norway national bandy team ( no, Norges herrelandslag i bandy) represents Norway in the sport of bandy. The country has both a men's national team and a women's national team. This article deals chiefly with the men's national team. Norway, Finland and Sweden played bandy at the Winter Olympics in Oslo in 1952. After having seen them there, the Soviet Union invited these three countries to a four nation bandy tournament in 1954. This was the first time a Soviet national bandy team met other national bandy teams. The four countries used somewhat different rules prior to this tournament, but the rules were adjusted to be the same for the future. Norway has been competing in the Bandy World Championship since the second tournament in 1961. Norway finished in second place in 1965 and in third place 1993.
