InfoCision Stadium–Summa Field
InfoCision Stadium–Summa Field is a college American football stadium in Akron, Ohio and the home field of the Akron Zips football team at the University of Akron. New for the 2009 football season, the official ground-breaking ceremony for the stadium was held on April 4, 2008, and it opened on September 12, 2009, for a sold-out game between the Akron Zips and the Morgan State Bears. The stadium was constructed to replace the Rubber Bowl, which was the prior home of the University of Akron Zips football team. Four companies hold naming rights to various parts of the stadium. Bath Township is one of the nine townships of Summit County, Ohio, United States. The 2000 census found 9,635 people in the township, a suburb of Akron. History The township was originally known as Wheatfield when it was surveyed in 1808. The name was later changed to Hammondsburgh after Jason Hammond, who settled there in 1810. Luis Mariano Proenza (born Dec. 22, 1944) is an American academic, and the former president of The University of Akron. He was a member of two advisory committees to US presidents. Biography Proenza holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Emory University (1965), a master's degree in psychology from Ohio State University (1966) and a doctorate in neurobiology from the University of Minnesota (1971). Proenza was president of The University of Akron from 1999 until 2014. In 2014, he was awarded the H. Donald L. Plusquellic (born July 3, 1949) is the former mayor of Akron, Ohio. First elected in 1987, he became the 59th Mayor of Akron after previously serving 13 years on Akron City Council.
