The Black Queen (band)
The Black Queen is an American electronic supergroup formed in Los Angeles in 2015. It was founded by lead singer Greg Puciato (of The Dillinger Escape Plan), keyboardist and guitarist Joshua Eustis (of Telefon Tel Aviv and ex-Nine Inch Nails) and keyboardist and guitarist Steven Alexander (former tech for The Dillinger Escape Plan and Nine Inch Nails). The Black Queen self-released their debut album '' Fever Daydream'' (2016). Following the announcement of their sophomore album ''Infinite Games'' (2018) came the formation of the label Federal Prisoner. Synthwave
Synthwave (also called outrun, retrowave, or futuresynth) is an electronic music microgenre that is based predominantly on the music associated with action, science-fiction, and horror film soundtracks of the 1980s. Other influences are drawn from the decade's art and video games. Synthwave musicians often espouse nostalgia for 1980s culture and attempt to capture the era's atmosphere and celebrate it. The genre developed in the mid-to late 2000s through French house producers, as well as younger artists who were inspired by the 2002 video game '' Grand Theft Auto: Vice City''. New Wave Music
New wave is a loosely defined music genre that encompasses pop-oriented styles from the late 1970s and the 1980s. Industrial Rock
Industrial rock is a fusion genre that fuses industrial music and rock music. It initially originated in the 1970s, and drew influence from early experimental and industrial acts such as Cromagnon, Throbbing Gristle, Einstürzende Neubauten and Chrome. Dark wave (also typeset as darkwave) is a music genre that emerged from the new wave and post-punk movement of the late 1970s. Dark wave compositions are largely based on minor key tonality and introspective lyrics and have been perceived as being dark, romantic and bleak, with an undertone of sorrow. ''Fever Daydream'' is the debut studio album by American electronic band The Black Queen. It was released independently on January 29, 2016. The album was released in Australia under Universal Music Australia and was initially limited to 1,000 copies. Background and composition In January 2013, Greg Puciato of The Dillinger Escape Plan revealed plans for a new project with Joshua Eustis in an interview with ''Revolver'', later releasing a teaser video on their official homepage under the name The Black Queen in 2015.
