Indonesian Basketball League
The Indonesian Basketball League (IBL; id, Liga Bola Basket Indonesia) is the preeminent men's professional basketball league in Indonesia, founded by Indonesian Basketball Association (Perbasi) in 2003. From 2010 to 2015 it was known as the National Basketball League (NBL) and organised by DBL Indonesia. In 2016, PT Bola Basket Indonesia acquired Starting 5 and after that PT Bola Basket Indonesia assigned by PP Perbasi to organised the league. History Basketball has a long history in Indonesia. Noted since the 1930s, although not yet officially an independent country, several cities in Indonesia have their own local clubs. The Indonesia men's national basketball team represents the Republic of Indonesia in international basketball competitions. The governing body of the team is the ''Persatuan Bola Basket Seluruh Indonesia'' (Indonesian Basketball Association – ''PERBASI''). Its biggest success was the gold medal at the 1996 South East Asian Championship. Team Indonesia is one of the major teams in Southeast Asia.
