Indonesia's National Basketball Team
The Indonesia men's national basketball team represents the Republic of Indonesia in international basketball competitions. The governing body of the team is the ''Persatuan Bola Basket Seluruh Indonesia'' (Indonesian Basketball Association – ''PERBASI''). Its biggest success was the gold medal at the 1996 South East Asian Championship. Team Indonesia is one of the major teams in Southeast Asia. The team finished among the top-four teams in Asia at the 1967 Asian Basketball Championship. At the 1996 SEABA Championship, Indonesia was the dominant country and won the gold medal. At the 1997 SEA Games in Jakarta, Indonesia failed to get a medal. Then, two years later Indonesia won the bronze medal at the Brunei 1999 SEA Games. Indonesia participated at the 2009 FIBA Asia Championship as well, which was held 6–16 August 2009, in Tianjin, China. Miloš Pejić
Miloš Pejić ( sr-cyr, Милош Пејић; born 22 October 1968) is a Serbian professional basketball coach and former player, and the coach for the Indonesia Patriots in the IBL and the Indonesia men's national basketball team Coaching career Pejić coached Mašinac, Sloga and Radnički FMP of the Basketball League of Serbia. On April 18, 2008, Pejić became a head coach for the Borac Banja Luka after Slobodan Nikolić got fired. In January 2009, he parted ways with Borac. During the 2014–15 season, Pejić coached the Gevgelija-based team Kožuv of the Macedonian First League and the Balkan International Basketball League. In November 2015, Pejić became a head coach for the Vršac Swisslion. Prior to start of 2016–17 season, Pejić was named as a head coach for the Lovćen 1947 of the Montenegrin League. The 1993 Southeast Asian Games, officially known as the 17th Southeast Asian Games were held in Singapore from 12 to 19 June 1993 with 29 sports in 440 events featured in this edition. The 2007 Southeast Asian Games (SEA) basketball tournaments was held at Keelapirom Stadium, Suranaree University of Technology at Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand. The basketball events were not held on the 2005 Southeast Asian Games since the host country, the Philippines basketball federation (the Basketball Association of the Philippines) was suspended by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). The suspension was lifted in 2006 and the Philippines and Malaysia defended their men's and women's championships, respectively, last won in 2003. The tournament was conducted on a single round robin; the team with best record wins the gold. The men's team of the Philippines maintained their superiority in the SEA Games, winning all of their games with an average lead of 42 points; the women's team of Malaysia easily dispatched their opponents in the first two games before upending the Thais in overtime to successfully defend their gold. The 2007 Southeast Asian Games ( th, กีฬาแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ 2007, Kila haeng echiye tawan oak chiyeng tai 2007), officially known as the 24th Southeast Asian Games, was a Southeast Asian multi-sport event held in Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat), Thailand. This was the sixth time Thailand hosted the Southeast Asian Games and its first time since 1995. Previously, Thailand also hosted the 1959 inaugural games, 1967 games, 1975 games and the 1985 games. The 2001 Southeast Asian Games ( ms, Sukan Asia Tenggara 2001), officially known as the 21st Southeast Asian Games, was a Southeast Asian multi-sport event held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Basketball was among the sports contested at the 2021 Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam. The basketball tournament in the games featured four events: traditional 5x5 basketball and 3x3 basketball, for both men and women.
