The individual freestyle dressage competition at the 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games was held between August 22 and August 26, 2006. Medalists Complete results Round 1 The first round of the individual freestyle dressage competition was held on August 22 and August 23, 2006. *Debbie McDonald withdrew prior to the final due to a veterinary concern with her horse, Brentina. Round 2 The second round of the individual freestyle dressage competition was held on August 25, 2006. This round was also used as the final for the individual special competition. *Because of a ruling that only three competitors from each nation may compete, both Hubertus Schmidt of Germany and Laurens van Lieren of the Netherlands were unable to compete in the final, allowing Christian Pläge of Switzerland and Emma Hindle of the United Kingdom to take their places. 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games
The 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games were held in Aachen, Germany from August 20 to September 3, 2006. They were the 5th edition of the games which are held every four years and run by the FEI. It was held in the Soers, a district of Aachen. The main stadium of this event was the Hauptstadion. Host selection On September 18, 2002 in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, the FEI awarded the 2006 Games to Aachen. The only other host city applicant was Lexington, Kentucky, United States (which was later awarded the following edition of the Games in 2010). Events 16 events in 7 disciplines were held in Aachen. Participating nations 59 National Equestrian Federations sent athletes to the Aachen games. Debbie McDonald
Debbie McDonald (born August 27, 1954) is an American dressage equestrianism, rider who has competed in the Equestrian at the Summer Olympics, Olympics and many international competitions. She now lives in Hailey, Idaho, with her husband Bob, a hunt seat, hunter/show jumping, jumper and horse trainer, trainer. Debbie trains and teaches riders on Peggy and E. Parry Thomas's River Grove Farm in Sun Valley, Idaho. McDonald's first Riding animal, mount was an $800 pony. She agreed that she would pay for board if her parents bought it for her. Shortly thereafter Debbie managed to find a gaited horse trainer near her hometown who allowed her to groom horses and clean stalls in exchange for board.
