Indiana State Road 111
State Road 111 (SR 111) in the U.S. State of Indiana is a rural two-lane highway which passes between New Boston and New Albany in the far southern portion of the state. It has existed since 1935. Some of the highway was decommissioned in October 2012 and more was decommissioned in January 2013. Route description The southern terminus of State Road 111 is at a dead end on the shores of the Ohio River, near the small community of New Boston. From here, it runs to the north and east, closely following the course of the river for about , at which point it intersects with the east–west State Road 211. It continues to follow the river toward Bridgeport. It continues north, entering downtown New Albany. New Albany, Indiana
New Albany is a city in Floyd County, Indiana, United States, situated along the Ohio River, opposite Louisville, Kentucky. The population was 37,841 as of the 2020 census. The city is the county seat of Floyd County. It is bounded by I-265 to the north and the Ohio River to the south, and is considered part of the Louisville, Kentucky Metropolitan Statistical Area. State Road 211 is a short east–west connector route in southeast Harrison County in the U.S. State of Indiana. Route description State Road 211 begins at an intersection with State Road 11 northeast of the town of Elizabeth. SR 211 proceeds east through a rural portion of Posey Township, soon turning southeast and winding down a hill, the route reaches a junction with State Road 111 in Sugar Grove, which marks the eastern terminus of the route, just east of where it started. The terminus is a short distance away from the Ohio River. WHAS (840 AM) is a radio station owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. and licensed to Louisville, Kentucky. Its studios are located in the Louisville enclave of Watterson Park, and the transmitter site is in Long Run, in far east Jefferson County.
