Indian Creek Station
Indian Creek is a train station in unincorporated DeKalb County, Georgia, the eastern terminus of the Blue Line of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) rail system. It has an island platform with one track on each side of the platform. This station opened in June 1993. As the eastern terminus for the Blue Line, it primarily serves commuters who take advantage of the free daily parking and ride into the city of Atlanta. Located just outside "The Perimeter" Interstate 285, it mainly serves the City of Lithonia, The newly incorporated City of Stonecrest, as well as communities in: The City of Stone Mountain, and unincorporated communities in: Redan, Stone Mountain and Decatur. The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA, ) is the principal public transport operator in the Atlanta metropolitan area. Formed in 1971 as strictly a bus system, MARTA operates a network of bus routes linked to a rapid transit system consisting of of rail track with 38 train stations. MARTA's rapid transit system is the eighth-largest rapid transit system in the United States by ridership. MARTA operates almost exclusively in Fulton, Clayton, and DeKalb counties, although they maintain bus service to two destinations in neighboring Cobb County (Six Flags Over Georgia and the Cumberland Transfer Center next to the Cumberland Mall), while Doraville station serves portions of Gwinnett County via Gwinnett Transit buses.
