Indian Cinematographers
Indian cinematographers work in a number of regional film centres: Chennai for Tamil films, Mumbai for films in Marathi and Hindi, Hyderabad for films in Telugu, Kochi for films in Malayalam, Kolkata for Bengali films, Bangalore for Kannada films, etc. Most Indian cinematographers are known for their work with one regional industry. Some cinematographers belong to various professional organisations and trade unions. Western India Cinematographers' Association (WICA) The Western India Cinematographers Association (WICA) is a society for Indian cinematographers. The society is situated at Mumbai in Maharashtra. Members of this society include the suffix WICA after their name in film credits. The organisation was formed on 2 August 1953 in Mumbai, and was presided over by a leading cinematographer of the time, Faredoon Irani; in the following month the first office bearers were chosen, including Nitin Bose as President and V. Kerala
Kerala ( ; ) is a state on the Malabar Coast of India. Gireesh Gangadharan
Girish Gangadharan ISC (born 13 March 1985) is an Indian cinematographer known for his work in Malayalam and Tamil films. He is the recipient of National Film Award for Best Cinematography for his work in the 2019 film '' Jallikkattu'' directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery. Career Girish completed his cinematography course from the Government Film and Television Institute, Bengaluru 2008 Batch and started assisting Sameer Thahir. Fowzia Fathima (born 24 January 1972) is an Indian film cinematographer and director. Fowzia is known for her cinematography on feature films such as Mitr, My Friend 2012, Gulumaal: The Escape 2009 and Uyir 2006. Chezhiyan
Chezhiyan is an Indian filmmaker and director of photography who works primarily in the Tamil film industry. He received critical acclaim for his work in '' Kalloori'' (2007), '' Paradesi'' (2013) and '' To Let'' (2017). Early life and education Chezhiyan was born in Sivaganga, Tamil Nadu, where he did his early schooling. His parents were primary school teachers. His father was an artist who used to draw and would make toys with clays, his mother was a storyteller and also a singer. Amal Neerad
Amal Neerad (born on 7 October 1976) is an Indian film director, cinematographer and producer who mainly works in Malayalam Cinema. He attended the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata (first batch). He was awarded the National Film Award for Best Cinematography (special mention) in 2001 for his diploma film ''Meena Jha'' (short feature section). He started his career shooting music videos, documentaries and ads. It was his Diploma film that brought him to the attention of Ram Gopal Verma and his team. Madhu Ambat is an Indian cinematographer. With a career spanning over 40 years, he is one of the most prolific cinematographers in Indian cinema. Venugopal (born 26 August 1961), popularly known as Venu, is an Indian cinematographer and film director who works mainly in Malayalam cinema. An alumnus of the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune and CMS college Kottayam. Santosh Sivan
Santosh Sivan (born 8 February 1964) is an Indian cinematographer, film director, producer and actor known for his works in Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi cinema. Santosh graduated from the Film and Television Institute of India and has to date completed 55 feature films and 50 documentaries.
