Independent Greens (Denmark)
The Independent Greens – Denmark's New Left-Wing Party ( da, Frie Grønne – Danmarks nye venstrefløjsparti), or simply the Independent Greens ( da, Frie Grønne) (Q), is a left-wing political party in Denmark. It was founded 7 September 2020 by four former members of The Alternative: Sikandar Siddique, Uffe Elbæk, and Susanne Zimmer, who were members of the Danish parliament, and Niko Grünfeld, member of Copenhagen City Council. The party leader is Sikandar Siddique. Elbæk was founder and leader of The Alternative from 2013 to 2020. The Independent Greens describe themselves as left wing and a "responsible, climate-conscious and anti-racist party". Shades Of White
Shades of white are colors that differ only slightly from pure white. Left-wing politics describes the range of political ideologies that support and seek to achieve social equality and egalitarianism, often in opposition to social hierarchy. The Christian Democrats ( Danish: ''Kristendemokraterne'') (KD) are a political party in Denmark. The party was founded in April 1970 as the Christian People's Party (''Kristeligt Folkeparti'') to oppose the liberalization of restrictions on pornography and the legalization of abortion. The party renamed itself to its current name in 2003. Originally, the party was not considered part of the European Christian-democratic tradition, and it was better known as a religious conservative party. The Vegan Party (Danish: ''Veganerpartiet'') was a political party in Denmark. History The party was founded in October 2018 by Henrik Vindfeldt and Michael Monberg. Monberg became the leader of the party. Franciska Rosenkilde
Franciska Rosenkilde (born 19 March 1976) is a Danish geographer and politician who has been the leader of The Alternative (Denmark), The Alternative since February 2021, replacing Josephine Fock. Alongside five other members of The Alternative, Rosenkilde was elected to the Folketing in November 2022. Education and civil career Rosenkilde has a Bachelor's degree#Denmark, professional bachelor's degree in health and nutrition from Metropol University College, which she studied from 2006 to 2010. In 2012, she began a master's degree in geography from the University of Copenhagen, which she completed in 2015. A study she completed with her thesis on food systems and climate change. 2022 Danish General Election
General elections were held in the Kingdom of Denmark on 1 November 2022, except in the Faroe Islands, where they were held on 31 October as 1 November was a national day of mourning for victims at sea. Of the 179 members of the Folketing, 175 were elected in Denmark proper, two in the Faroes and two in Greenland. The elections were called on 5 October following an ultimatum to the government by the Social Liberal Party (which had been providing external support) due to the outcome of a report on the 2020 Danish mink cull by the Mink Commission, which was critical of the government. Voter turnout was 84% in Denmark, 48% in Greenland, and 71% in the Faroes with a combined turnout of 84% for the Realm as a whole. Socialist People's Party (Denmark)
The Green Left ( da, Socialistisk Folkeparti, SF) is a democratic socialist political party in Denmark. It was formerly known in English as the Socialist People's Party, the literal translation of its Danish name. History 1959–1969 The SF was founded on 15 February 1959 by Aksel Larsen, a former leader of the Communist Party of Denmark (DKP). Larsen was removed from the ranks of the DKP for his criticism over the Soviet intervention in the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. Larsen and the new SF sought to form a third way between Denmark's United States-oriented social democracy and Soviet Union–oriented communism, which sought to combine democracy with socialism. Rasmus Nordqvist (born 18 July 1975 in Copenhagen) is a Danish politician, who is a member of the Folketing for the Socialist People's Party. History and profile ''Dagbladet Information'' was established and published by the Danish resistance movement in 1943 during World War II. The paper was edited by Børge Outze and was illegal during the war as it was not regulated by the German occupying power. Josephine Fock
Josephine Fock (born 5 September 1965) is a Danish politician, who was a member of the Folketing for The Alternative from 2015 to 2018. She was the leader of the party from 1 February to 14 November 2020 after Uffe Elbæk resigned. Political career Born in Aarhus, Fock was elected into parliament at the 2015 Danish general election. In 2018 she was offered a job for the Danish Refugee Council and she resigned her seat in parliament on 1 November 2018. Julius Graakjær Grantzau took over her seat. On 16 December 2019 the leader of the Alternative, Uffe Elbæk, announced that he would like to pass on the leadership. On 1 February 2020 Fock became the party's new leader.
