Action film is a film genre in which the protagonist is thrust into a series of events that typically involve violence and physical feats. Aleksandr Antonov (actor)
Aleksandr Pavlovich Antonov (russian: Александр Павлович Антонов; 13 February 1898, in Moscow – 26 November 1962) was a Soviet film actor who had a lengthy career, stretching from the silent era to the 1950s. Antonov was named Merited Artist of the Russian Federation in 1950. Antonov was a member of the Moscow Proletarian Culture Theater between the years 1920–1924 when he met Sergei Eisenshtein, who cast him in his directorial debut short film Glumov's Diary (1923) and in his first full-length feature ''Strike'' (1924). Eisenshtein then gave Antonov the part of Bolshevik leader Grigory Vakulinchuk in ''The Battleship Potemkin'' (1925), which remains his best known role. Antonov continued his career into both the late silent and the sound period where he usually played episodic character actor roles of either proletarians or sailors. Musa Viktorovna Krepkogorskaya (russian: Муза Викторовна Крепкогорская; July 9, 1924, Moscow — June 26, 1999, Moscow) was a Soviet and Russian theater and film actress, Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1989). Wife of actor Georgi Yumatov. They met at VGIK during the 1940s and lived together up till Yumatov's death. Krepkogorskaya was never as popular as her husband, even though he made sure that she was given at least minor roles in every movie he appeared in. Muza Krepkogorskaya died on June 26, 1999. She was buried in Moscow at the Vagankovo Cemetery. Biography He was born October 30, 1924 in Sverdlovsk (now Yekaterinburg, Russia). His father was as candidate of historical sciences and the deputy head of the political department of the Molotov Military Aviation. During World War II, he went to work as a mechanic in an aviation workshop, and in 1942, became a cadet of Molotovskaya military aviation school of pilots. Having graduated with honors and received in November 1943 and received the rank of Junior Lieutenant of the Air Force. He fought in Belarus and the Baltic States.
