Incheon United FC is a South Korean professional football club based in Incheon that competes in the K League 1, the top flight of South Korean football. Founded in 2003, the club is a so-called "community club", with the government of the city of Incheon being its key shareholder. The club's home stadium is the Incheon Football Stadium. History Formation Officially founded at the end of the 2003 season, the move to create a professional football club in Incheon had come about in part by the construction of the Incheon Munhak Stadium for the 2002 FIFA World Cup. Mayor of Incheon Ahn Sang-soo began the process of creating a new club in earnest in June 2003 with the official founding of Incheon FC. Incheon Football Stadium
Incheon Football Stadium, also known as Sungui Arena Park, is a football-specific stadium in Incheon, South Korea. The stadium is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Incheon United of the K League. The stadium was designed with a capacity of 20,891 spectators. It replaced the much larger Incheon Munhak Stadium. On 11 March 2012, Incheon United officially had its first game since the opening of the stadium on the same day, when they played against Suwon Samsung Bluewings. Alpay Özalan
Fehmi Alpay Özalan (born 29 May 1973) is a Turkish former professional footballer, football manager and politician. He last worked as the manager of Samsunspor. He played 90 international games for Turkey between 1995 and 2005, making him Turkey's seventh-most capped player of all time. This included performances at two European Championships and the 2002 World Cup, in which he was selected for the Team of the Tournament. The Korean FA Cup is a national football cup knockout competition of South Korea, held annually by the Korea Football Association (KFA). Dženan Radončić ( Cyrillic: Џенан Радончић; born 2 August 1983) is a Montenegrin retired footballer who played as a striker. Club career In June 2003, Radončić was transferred from Rudar Pljevlja to Partizan on a four-year contract. He only appeared in four league games, but also managed to make his UEFA Champions League debut in a 1–1 home draw with Marseille, all as a substitute. However, just half a year upon joining Partizan, Radončić moved to the Far East and joined newly founded K League club Incheon United.
