The fourth season of the American political drama television series ''The West Wing'' aired in the United States on NBC from September 25, 2002 to May 14, 2003 and consisted of 23 episodes. Production After the difficulties Aaron Sorkin encountered in writing Season 3, he saw Season 4 as a return to the form he and the show had previously enjoyed, saying " ecame back to work, after the hiatus, and didn't feel any of that, just felt the week-to-week pressure of trying to write well." Alexander John Graves (born July 23, 1965) is an American film director, television director, television producer and screenwriter. Early life Alex Graves was born in Kansas City, Missouri. His father, William Graves, was a reporter for ''The Kansas City Star'' and his mother, Alexandra "Sandy" Graves, worked for United States Senator Nancy Kassebaum of Kansas. "20 Hours in America" is the two-part fourth season premiere of ''The West Wing''. The episode aired on September 25, 2002 on NBC. Plot The episode opens with President Josiah Bartlet giving a speech in Indiana during his re-election campaign, while Toby and Josh converse in a field with a farmer named Cathy (played by Amy Adams). They realize that the Presidential motorcade that was transporting them between campaign stops has gone without them, leaving them, along with Donna who was sent to fetch them, stranded. Thomas David Schlamme (; born ) is an American television director, known particularly for his collaborations with Aaron Sorkin. He is known for his work as executive producer on ''The West Wing'' and ''Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip,'' as well as his work as director on '' Sports Night'' and ''The Americans''. Early life Schlamme was born in Houston, Texas. He is Jewish, and his family escaped Nazi Germany the week before the Kristallnacht. He attended Bellaire High School in Bellaire, Texas. Production Schlamme moved from his native Houston to New York City in 1973. After serving in several low level positions for production companies, he founded his own company, Schlamme Productions, in 1980.
