Inane Rovers Gaelic Football Club ( ga, CPG Fániathe Eidhneáin) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in County Tipperary, Ireland. The club was founded in 1950, is based outside Moneygall and plays Gaelic football in the North division of Tipperary GAA. County Tipperary ( ga, Contae Thiobraid Árann) is a county in Ireland. It is in the province of Munster and the Southern Region. The county is named after the town of Tipperary, and was established in the early 13th century, shortly after the Norman invasion of Ireland. Moneygall
Moneygall () is a small village on the border of counties Offaly and Tipperary, in Ireland. It is situated on the R445 road between Dublin and Limerick. There were 313 people living in the village as of the 2016 census. Moneygall has a Catholic church, motorway service station, a car sales and repair centre, a national school, a Garda station and two pubs. The nearest Church of Ireland church, Borrisnafarney, is 2 km from the village beside the former Loughton Demesne. The village received international attention for being the ancestral home of Falmouth Kearney, a maternal great-great-great grandfather of Barack Obama. Obama visited the village in 2011. Gaelic football ( ga, Peil Ghaelach; short name '), commonly known as simply Gaelic, GAA or Football is an Irish team sport. It is played between two teams of 15 players on a rectangular grass pitch. The objective of the sport is to score by kicking or punching the ball into the other team's goals (3 points) or between two upright posts above the goals and over a crossbar above the ground (1 point). Players advance the football up the field with a combination of carrying, bouncing, kicking, hand-passing, and soloing (dropping the ball and then toe-kicking the ball upward into the hands). In the game, two types of scores are possible: points and goals. A point is awarded for kicking or hand-passing the ball over the crossbar , signalled by the umpire raising a white flag. Thomas MacDonagh's Gaelic Football Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association amalgamation representing nine clubs in County Tipperary in Ireland. The club plays Gaelic football in the North division of Tipperary GAA and is named after the Irish revolutionary and Kilruane native Thomas MacDonagh. The Tipperary Senior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association club competition between the top Gaelic football clubs in Tipperary. The winners of the Tipperary Championship qualify to represent their county in the Munster Senior Club Football Championship, the winners of which advance to the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship. History Over the decades, the Tipperary championship has been dominated by teams from South Tipperary, with Fethard and Clonmel Commercials leading the roll of honour, though Loughmore-Castleiney from Mid Tipperary strongly challenge and were the 2014 champions.
