''In the Wake of Determination'' is the second studio album by American rock band Story of the Year. The album is much heavier sounding than their debut album ''Page Avenue''. Background Story of the Year released their debut album ''Page Avenue'' in September 2003 through major label Maverick Records. The album, which was produced by John Feldmann, received substantial airplay at radio and video outlets. By April 2004, the album was certified gold in the US. Vocalist Dan Marsala said the success of the album "started to get to all of us ... egot lumped in with all of these new bands ... that aren't really that good". Marsala became critical of Feldmann, stating that Feldmann "originally changed our sound. All of his records have the same sort of sound". Story of the Year is an American rock band formed in St. Louis, Missouri, Story of the Year at Allmusic.comAccessed May 17, 2007. in 1995 under the name 67 North. The band eventually changed their name to Big Blue Monkey in 1998, and then subsequently changed it again to Story of the Year in 2002, after the release of their EP titled ''Story of the Year'' on the indie label Criterion Records. "Eye of the Tiger" is a song by American rock band Survivor. It was released as a single from their third album of the same name and was also the theme song for the 1982 film ''Rocky III'', which was released a day before the single. The song was written by Survivor guitarist Frankie Sullivan and keyboardist Jim Peterik, and it was recorded at the request of ''Rocky III'' star, writer, and director Sylvester Stallone, after Queen denied him permission to use " Another One Bites the Dust", the song Stallone intended as the ''Rocky III'' theme. The version of the song that appears in the film is the demo version of the song. The film version also contained tiger growls, which did not appear on the album version. Groove Metal
Groove metal is a subgenre of heavy metal music that began in the early 1990s. The genre achieved success in the 1990s and continued having success in the 2000s. Inspired by thrash metal and traditional heavy metal, groove metal features raspy singing and screaming, down-tuned guitars, heavy guitar riffs, and syncopated rhythms. Unlike thrash metal, groove metal is usually slower and also uses elements of traditional heavy metal.
