In the Rainbow Rain is the ninth studio album by American indie band Okkervil River. The album was released on ATO Records on April 27, 2018. Release On February 12, 2018, Okkervil River announced the release of their new album for April 27, 2018, alongside the first single "Don't Move Back to L.A.". On March 20, 2018, the second single "Pulled Up The Ribbon" was released, along with a music video. The music video features Sarah Pedinotti. On April 11, 2018, the band released the music video for "Don't Move Back to L.A.". The third single "Famous Tracheotomies" was released on April 16, 2018. Critical reception ''In the Rainbow Rain'' was met with "generally favorable" reviews from critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted average rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream publications, this release received an average score of 68, based on 18 reviews. Okkervil River
Okkervil River is an American rock band led by singer-songwriter Will Sheff. Formed in Austin, Texas, in 1998, the band takes its name from a short story by Russian author Tatyana Tolstaya set on the river Okkervil in Saint Petersburg. They began as a trio made up of Sheff and friends he had met in his native state of New Hampshire but, over time, have gone through many lineups. Okkervil River self-released their first album, ''Stars Too Small to Use,'' which led them to the South by Southwest music festival. After recording their first album in a garage, they signed with Jagjaguwar. They continued by releasing four more albums, including the critically lauded concept album ''Black Sheep Boy''. The Okkervil () is a river in Leningrad Oblast and the eastern part of the city of Saint Petersburg, Russia. It is the largest :wikt:left bank, left tributary of the Okhta. It is long and wide. Rob Moose
Rob Moose (born 1982) is an American multi-instrumentalist, arranger, producer, conductor, and orchestrator. He primarily plays the violin, viola, and guitar. Early life and education Moose was born in 1982. He was raised in Windsor, Connecticut and learned piano and violin at The Hartt School. He attended the Loomis Chaffee School through 10th grade, before moving with his family to Moorestown, New Jersey. He completed high school at Moorestown Friends School, graduating in 2000. Moose studied violin at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City. He began a master's program in American studies at Columbia University, but left to join Antony and the Johnsons on tour in 2005. Sarah Pedinotti
Sarah Pedinotti is an American songwriter and musician originally from Saratoga Springs, NY. She is the lead singer and songwriter of the band Railbird (band), Railbird. In March 2011 Railbird toured to and from SXSW supporting their debut, self-released album, No One. Recorded mostly in Queens, and partly in upstate, NY, No One is a conceptual album that took a year and a half to complete. In December 2010 Railbird was featured as of the "Top Five Bands You Should Know About" in Relix, Relix Magazine. Pedinotti is one of seven in a family of artists. She began writing, singing and playing piano at an early age influenced by an eclectic assortment of music.
