Background According to songwriter Billy Steinberg, "In Your Room" was written in the same batch of songs as "Eternal Flame (song), Eternal Flame". Steinberg recalled, "The Bangles liked everything from Petula Clark to The Beatles and all the Sixties music they loved. So when we got together to write with Susanna it was right up our alley because of course Tom and I grew up in the sixties and that was what we loved. So we had that in common with Susanna". "Mony Mony" is a 1968 single by American pop rock band Tommy James and the Shondells, which reached No. 1 in the UK Singles Chart and No. 3 in the U.S. Written by Bobby Bloom, Ritchie Cordell, Bo Gentry and Tommy James, the song has appeared in various film and television works such as the Oliver Stone drama '' Heaven & Earth''. Davitt Sigerson (born 1957) is an American novelist whose first career was in the music business. Sigerson was a record producer, singer, songwriter, record company executive, and journalist. Early life, education, and career Davitt Sigerson was born in New York City, New York. After attending school at Oxford University in England, he remained in the UK, writing about music for Black Music, Sounds, Melody Maker, and Time Out, before returning to the U.S. in 1979, where he also wrote for The Village Voice, Rolling Stone and The New York Times. William Endfield Steinberg (born February 26, 1950) is an American songwriter. He achieved his greatest success in the 1980s with songwriting partner Tom Kelly; together they wrote or co-wrote the No. 1 hits " Like a Virgin" by Madonna (1984), " True Colors" by Cyndi Lauper (1986), "Eternal Flame" by the Bangles (1989), " So Emotional" by Whitney Houston (1987) and " Alone" (covered by Heart in 1987).
