Imran Parvez
Imran Parvez (born 28 December 1977, in Rajshahi) is a Bangladeshi former first-class cricketer active 2000–2004, who is also known by his nickname 'Ripon'. After retiring from cricket he became an umpire and officates matches domestic cricket. Career Playing career He made his debut for Rajshahi Division in 2000/01, playing for them until 2003/04. He took 76 first-class wickets with his off breaks, with a best of 5 for 35 against Barisal Division. His other five wicket haul, 5 for 82, came against Chittagong Division. A tail end right-handed batsman, his best score of 37* came against Barisal Division. Umpiring career He is now an umpire and stood in matches in Bangladesh's National Cricket League. Shakib Al Hasan (Bengali: সাকিব আল হাসান; born 24 March 1987) is a Bangladeshi cricketer and current captain of the Bangladesh national cricket team in Tests and T20Is. 2021 Dhaka Premier Division Twenty20 Cricket League
The 2021 Dhaka Premier Division Twenty20 Cricket League was the second edition of the Dhaka Premier Division Twenty20 Cricket League, a Twenty20 cricket competition that was held in Bangladesh. The tournament replaced the 2019–20 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, which was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and featured the same twelve teams playing in the Twenty20 format instead of the List A format. Originally, the tournament was scheduled to start on 6 May 2021. However, in April 2021, the tournament was postponed until 31 May 2021, due to the nationwide lockdown. First-class Cricket
First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. The etymology of "first-class cricket" is unknown, but it was used loosely before it acquired official status in 1895, following a meeting of leading English clubs. 2016–17 National Cricket League
The 2016–17 National Cricket League was the eighteenth edition of the National Cricket League, a first-class cricket competition that was held in Bangladesh. The tournament started on 25 September 2016 and concluded on 6 January 2017. Khulna Division were the defending champions. Heavy rain affected the first three rounds of matches, with only two matches out of twelve ending in a result other than a draw. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced that all matches scheduled to take place on 14 October 2016 would be delayed until the weather improved. However, there was no improvement in the weather and those matches and future fixtures were postponed due to the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The tournament restarted on 20 December 2016 after the conclusion of the BPL. Khulna Division retained their title when they beat Dhaka Metropolis by 398 runs in their final match.
