Improper Channels
''Improper Channels'' is a Canadian comedy-drama film, directed by Eric Till and released in 1981. The film stars Alan Arkin as an architect named Jeff Martley, and Mariette Hartley as his estranged wife Diana. After their daughter Nancy is mildly injured in a car accident, an overzealous social worker (Monica Parker) wrongly accuses him of child abuse, and takes custody of the child away. Eric Till
Eric Till (born 24 November 1929) is an English film and television director working in Canada, the United States, and Europe since the 1960s. His 1977 film ''It Shouldn't Happen to a Vet'' was entered into the 10th Moscow International Film Festival. Career After directing for the ''Armchair Theatre'' and ''Wednesday Play'' series' in the UK, Till emigrated to Canada in Toronto. He has directed numerous Canadian and American TV films from the 1960s onwards, including ''An American Christmas Carol'' starring Henry Winkler, '' Getting Married in Buffalo Jump'', and ''To Catch a Killer'', starring Brian Dennehy as psychotic serial killer John Wayne Gacy. Charles Dunlop (designer)
Charles Edward Dunlop (25 June 1870 – 21 August 1911) played first-class cricket for Somerset from 1892 to 1905. He was born at Edinburgh, Scotland and died at Kensington, London. Dunlop was a middle to lower order right-handed batsman. He played for Somerset in around half a dozen matches in several seasons from 1892 onwards without ever being a regular player or a particularly prolific contributor to the county's run-getting. A history of Somerset cricket written 80 years after Dunlop's last appearance for the side said he was "played mainly for his enthusiastic fielding". Dunlop was educated at Merchiston Castle School and at the University of Oxford, though he did not make any appearances for the Oxford cricket team. His first first-class appearances for Somerset came in 1892: he played seven times that season, but made only 75 runs in these games.
