Impromptu (2013 Film)
''Impromptu'' is a Canadian animated short film, directed by Bruce Alcock and released in 2013. The film centres on Chuck (Robert Joy), a man who is preparing a dinner during which he plans to talk to his wife about their relationship difficulties, only to have his plans upended when his wife unexpectedly invites a whole raft of her co-workers home to join them. The voice cast also includes Otto Alcock, Liz Solo, Mary Lewis, Sean Panting, Brian Marler and Jane Dingle. The film premiered at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival. Bruce Alcock
Bruce Alcock is a Vancouver-based, Newfoundland-born multimedia filmmaker, creative director, and founder of animation studios Cuppa Coffee Studio (with Adam Shaheen) and Global Mechanic. Born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, he has directed several animated short films including ''At The Quinte Hotel'' (2005), an animated film set to a 1968 CBC Radio recording of Al Purdy reading his poem ''Quinte Hotel''. The film, which combines stop-motion and traditional animation, received the Canadian Film Institute Award for best Canadian animation at the Ottawa International Animation Festival. Annette Clarke (producer)
Annette Clarke is a Canadian producer of documentary and animated films, who served as executive producer of the National Film Board of Canada's Quebec and Atlantic studio from 2003 to 2021. Clarke first joined the NFB's Newfoundland office in 1987, moving to Montreal two years later to work with the Studio D unit for women filmmakers. Edward Riche (born October 24, 1961) is a Canadian writer. He lives in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. Background Riche was born in Botwood, Newfoundland. For three years he attended Memorial University, and then transferred to Concordia University, Montreal to study film. He graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor of Fine Art in Film production. Robert Joy (born August 17, 1951) is a Canadian actor. He is best known for his role as medical examiner Sid Hammerback on the police procedural series ''CSI: NY'', and his appearances in the films ''Atlantic City'' (1980), ''Ragtime'' (1981), ''Desperately Seeking Susan'' (1985), ''Land of the Dead'' (2005), and ''The Hills Have Eyes'' (2006).
