Imperial Toy Corporation
Imperial Toy Corporation is a North Hills, California-based toy company founded in April 1969 by Fred Kort, best known for producing rubber animals. One of their best known products is an articulated Godzilla action figure that is available in several sizes and was regularly seen in the sitcom, ''Roseanne''. They also made a licensed toy of the alien from ''Close Encounters of the Third Kind'' in 1978. Peter Tiger and Art Hirsch purchased the company from the Kort family in 2006, by which time the company had made over 900 products. It went bankrupt in 2020 and was acquired by another rack toy company, Ja-Ru, Inc.. North Hills, California
North Hills, known previously as Sepulveda, is a neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley region of the City of Los Angeles. North Hills was originally part of an agricultural community known as Mission Acres. After WWII, the newly-developed suburban community was renamed Sepulveda, after the prominent Sepúlveda family of California. In 1991, it was renamed North Hills. Geography North Hills is located in the central San Fernando Valley. Northridge is to the west, Panorama City is to the east, Van Nuys is to the south, and Granada Hills to the north. The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (USCPSC, CPSC, or commission) is an independent agency of the United States government. The CPSC seeks to promote the safety of consumer products by addressing “unreasonable risks” of injury (through coordinating recalls, evaluating products that are the subject of consumer complaints or industry reports, etc.); developing uniform safety standards (some mandatory, some through a voluntary standards process); and conducting research into product-related illness and injury. King Kong is a fictional giant monster resembling a gorilla, who has appeared in various media since 1933. He has been dubbed The Eighth Wonder of the World, a phrase commonly used within the franchise. Woody Woodpecker
Woody Woodpecker is an animated character that appeared in theatrical short films produced by the Walter Lantz Studio and distributed by Universal Studios between 1940 and 1972. Woody, an anthropomorphic woodpecker, was created in 1940 by Lantz and storyboard artist Ben "Bugs" Hardaway, who had previously laid the groundwork for two other screwball characters, Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, at the Warner Bros. cartoon studio in the late 1930s.
