Impact Records was an American record label founded in 1989 by Carl Sturken and Evan Rogers. It was once a subsidiary of MCA Records. Today, its back catalog remains part of Universal Music Group. Acts on the label are and/or have included: Sass Jordan, The Fixx, Rythm Syndicate, Joey Lawrence, and Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes. Impact Records was a California based record label run by CT Records creator, Anthony J. Hilder, Tony Hilder in the 1960s. This label released some surf records by The Crestwoods, Dave Myers and The Surftones,45 CaImpact (Calif.) - Label Discography/ref> The Ramblers and The New BreedGlobal Dog Production/ref> and The Revels. The Revels were known for the hits "Comanche" and "Intoxica". Background Formed in the 1960s, this Los Angeles-based record label was managed by Tony Hilder. Among other things, Impact Records served as an outlet for masters that Hilder couldn't get released on other labels. A good deal of the material released was from local aspiring artists and bands of the Los Angeles area. Dean Zook handled the radio promotion for the Midwest, working from his base in Denver. ''For other record labels named Impact Records, see Impact Records (other)'' Impact was a New Zealand record label which released records by, among others, Erana Clark, Ray Columbus, Allison Durbin, Gerry Merito, Lew Pryme, Bunny Walters, Ray Woolf, Larry's Rebels and Golden Harvest. The label started releasing records in 1966 and continued throughout the 1970s. Background The idea of the label was conceived by Russell Clark while he was still at school. It was founded in 1966 by Clark and Benny Levin. Ray Columbus, who had just left Zodiac Records, was the first artist to be signed. According to the edition of 1 January 1966 of ''Billboard'', after Columbus, two other acts were to have releases. They were the group Larry's Rebels and the singer Gerry Merito.
