''Immortal'' is a remix album of music originally recorded by American recording artist Michael Jackson, released on November 18, 2011 by Epic Records. The album is also a soundtrack to Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour, which debuted on October 2, 2011 in Montreal. Background and release On October 3, 2011, Sony Music Entertainment announced that over 40 of Jackson's original recordings were redesigned and reimagined by the Justin Timberlake and Rihanna producer Kevin Antunes throughout a year-period work in the studio with original multi-track master recordings. Hence it is expected that ''Immortal'' will continue a similar mixing production to the soundtracks to previous Cirque du Soleil's shows: 2006's ''Love'', with the remixed music of The Beatles (to the show of the same name), and 2010's Elvis Presley-themed remix soundtrack ''Viva Elvis'' (to the show of the same name). The Remix Suite
''The Remix Suite'' (digital title: ''Michael Jackson: The Remix Suite'') is a compilation of remixed hits by singer Michael Jackson. Although labeled as a Michael Jackson release, the majority of remixes are of hits during his tenure with The Jackson 5. Starting from August 25, five remixes each were released digitally as "suites" via iTunes, AmazonMP3 and Rhapsody (online music service), Rhapsody every two weeks. It is the fifth album to be released since Jackson's death. The first suite leaked online two weeks before its intended digital release. The Stripped Mixes
''The Stripped Mixes'' (released on CD for a limited time as ''The Motown 50 Mixes''), is a collection of American singer and former Jackson 5 member Michael Jackson's classic songs. The songs featured on the album are mainly from Jackson's career as a member of the Jackson 5 from the late 1960s to the 1970s. Songs credited to Jackson as a solo artist are from his albums during his Motown-era. Other songs included on the album are "stripped" mixes of Jackson material, meaning the songs are of a quieter tone and most of the drums have been removed. Following a surge in Jackson's popularity after his death in June 2009, it was confirmed on July 7, that ''The Stripped Mixes'' would be released. The album was made available as a digital download on July 7, 2009, and as a CD on July 28. "They Don't Care About Us" is a song by American singer and songwriter Michael Jackson, released in April 16, 1996 as the fifth single from his ninth album, '' HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I'' (1995). ''Viva Elvis'' was the seventh resident Cirque du Soleil show on the Las Vegas Strip. It resided at the Aria Resort & Casino and premiered on February 19, 2010. The show closed on August 31, 2012. Cirque du Soleil partnered with Elvis Presley Enterprises to produce this show, similar to how they partnered with The Beatles' Apple Corps Ltd to produce the resident show ''Love'' at the Mirage. CKX, Inc., the company that owns the rights to Elvis Presley's name, likeness, and music publishing, signed an agreement to have Cirque du Soleil create the Elvis-themed residency show.
