Imelda Concepcion (born 1936) was an actress associated with Sampaguita Pictures. She appeared primarily in supporting roles. Concepcion was first noticed as a friend of Rita Gomez in a Pancho Magalona-Linda Estrella movie called Milyonarya at Hampaslupa (''The Millionaire & the Pauper''). She served as one of the female leads in Fred Montilla & Tessie Agana swashbuckler movie, Nagkita si Kerubin at Si Tulisang Pugot (''Kerubin Meets the Headless Bandit''). Sampaguita Pictures
Sampaguita Pictures was a Philippine film production company. It was named for the Philippine national flower, sampaguita. Though no longer functioning, the company's Sampaguita Compound remains in Quezon City. History Sampaguita Pictures was established in the last quarter of 1937. Its first feature-length film was ''Bituing Marikit'', starring Elsa Oria and Rogelio dela Rosa. It was a box-office hit. The company continued to make films in the action, musical, horror and suspense genres. Before World War II began, and the Japanese occupied the Philippines, several Sampaguita films enjoyed box office success in the region. Some of them employed the famous tandem of Carmen Rosales and Rogelio dela Rosa, like ''Panambitan'', ''Pagsuyo'', ''Jazmin'' and many more. Enrique Gayoso Magalona Jr. (January 22, 1922 – April 7, 1998), popularly known as Pancho Magalona, was a Filipino actor from the 1940s to the 1970s. Early life Born Enrique Gayoso Magalona Jr. in Bacolod, Negros Occidental, he was the son of Enrique B. Magalona Sr., who was then a municipal president of Saravia (now renamed in his honor) and a future Senator. Personal life Magalona and his wife Tita Duran, appeared in numerous Sampaguita Pictures movies. The couple was the most popular movie love team during the late 1940s and 1950s. Consuello Vera Rigotti (December 3, 1922 – February 18, 2012), professionally known as Linda Estrella, was a Filipina actress and singer, best known as one of the players of Sampaguita Pictures. Biography Consuello Vera Rigotti was born on December 3, 1922 to Jose Alcala Rigotti a Filipino of Italian descent from Albay and a Filipina mother Francisca Vera from Catanduanes. She grew up in Catanduanes and when they moved to Manila, she obtained a degree in Home Economics at Philippine Women's University. Her uncle was Judge Jose Vera the founder of Sampaguita Pictures and filmmaker Marichu Vera-Perez is her niece. She was married to Dr. Adriano Acgoili Agana, with whom she adopted three children over the years, Tessie, Maria Lourdes, and a third child who is deceased. Death She died on February 18, 2012, in Hobart, Indiana, aged 89.
