Imam Tantowi
Imam Tantowi (born 13 August 1946) is an Indonesian film director and screenwriter. Tantowi was a stage director before he began to work in film, first as artistic director and later as assistant director. In 1982 he was given the opportunity to direct his first film, ''Pasukan Berani Mati'' (''Ready-to-Die Force''). In a career spanning six decades he has directed 18 feature films and written more than 30 scripts for the screen and for television. Tantowi won the Citra Award for Best Original Screenplay at the 1989 Indonesian Film Festival for his film '. At the 1991 Indonesian Film Festival he won the Best Director award for his film '' Soerabaia 45''. He won the Vidia Award at the 1996 Festival Sinetron Indonesia for his television series '. Tegal (city)
Tegal is a city in the northwest part of Central Java of Indonesia. It is situated on the north coast (or ''pesisir'') of Central Java, about from Semarang, the capital of the province. It had a population of 239,599 at the 2010 Census and 276,734 at the 2015 Census. Its built-up (''or metro'') area made up of Tegal Municipality and 12 districts spread over Tegal and Brebes Regencies was home to 1,366,858 inhabitants as of 2010 census. It is administratively separate from Tegal Regency, which borders it to the south and east; Brebes Regency borders it to the west. The Dutch East Indies colonial sugar industry originated in Tegal and the nearby city of Pekalongan, approximately to the east. Soerabaia 45 is an Indonesian film released in 1990. The film was directed by Imam Tantowi and starred Nyoman Swadayani, Leo Kristi, and Usman Effendy. The story of the film is based on the 1945 Battle of Surabaya between pro-independence Indonesian soldiers and militia against British and British Indian troops as a part of the Indonesian National Revolution. ''Tukang Bubur Naik Haji the Series'' (''A Porridge-Seller Performs the Hajj the Series'') is an Indonesian primetime soap opera that aired on RCTI everyday from 2012 to 2017.
