Image Works was a British video game publisher that served as a publishing label for Mirrorsoft between 1988 and 1992, when the parent company went bankrupt. History The first two games published under the Image Works label were '' Fernandez Must Die'' and '' Foxx Fights Back''. Image Works notably became the European publisher for all the titles developed by The Bitmap Brothers, starting with their second game '' Speedball'', until The Bitmap Brothers founded their own publishing brand Renegade Software. ''Interphase'' is a 1989 combination first-person shooter and puzzle video game developed by The Assembly Line and published by Image Works for multiple platforms. The developers were licensed to use concepts from ''Neuromancer'', reflected in the virtual-reality cyberspace concept and theme of a powerful corporation. The game is a first-person shooter, but the game primarily focuses on puzzle-solving using the interaction between a 3D cyberpunk environment and its conceptual relationship with a 2D zoomable blueprint in which a non-player character is indirectly guided through the floors of a high-security building. ''Bloodwych'' is a dungeon role-playing video game, a dungeon crawler, developed for the Amiga, Atari ST, MS-DOS, Amstrad CPC, Commodore 64, and ZX Spectrum. Its box featured artwork by Chris Achilleos. The plotline identifies the player as a champion of Trazere who, after recruiting up to three fellow champions, travels through dungeons and mazes fighting creatures along the way to find and destroy the evil Zendick, and banish the Lord of Entropy. Development The development of Bloodwych has been well documented by Richard Hewison, who was the Project Manager for the game at the time at Mirrorsoft, in his article titled "The Trazere Trinity". ''Blasteroids'' is the third official sequel to the 1979 multidirectional shooter video game, ''Asteroids''. It was developed by Atari Games and released in arcades in 1987. Unlike the previous games, ''Blasteroids'' uses raster graphics instead of vector graphics, and has power-ups and a boss. Home computer ports of ''Blasteroids'' were released by Image Works for the Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, Commodore 64, MSX, MS-DOS, and ZX Spectrum. An emulated version of ''Blasteroids'' is an unlockable mini-game in ''Lego Dimensions''. Gameplay The gameplay is basically the same as for the original. The player controls a spaceship viewed from "above" in a 2D representation of space, by rotating the ship, and using thrust to give the ship momentum.
