Illinois Instant Riches
''Illinois Instant Riches'' (later known as ''Illinois' Luckiest'') is a lottery game show airing in the state of Illinois, as well as nationally on Chicago-based Superstation WGN-TV. The show was hosted by Mark Goodman, with Linda Kollmeyer as his co-host and Bill Barber as announcer. The show was produced by Mark Goodson Productions (later Jonathan Goodson Productions), and premiered on July 9, 1994. The show was renamed ''Illinois' Luckiest'' in 1998 and aired until 2000. For contestants to appear on the show, they had to purchase an ''Illinois Instant Riches''/''Illinois' Luckiest'' scratch-off ticket from an Illinois Lottery retailer. Common for the lottery game shows of the 90s, if they uncovered three television set symbols on the ticket, the ticket was sent into a submission address, or redeemed physically at the nearest lottery office. Mark Goodman
Mark Goodman (born October 11, 1952) is an American radio host, TV personality and actor. He is best known as one of the original five video jockeys (VJs), along with Nina Blackwood, Alan Hunter, J. J. Jackson and Martha Quinn, on the music network MTV, from 1981 to 1987. Early life, education and family Goodman was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1952. He is Jewish. From 1982 to 1987, he was married to New York City rock DJ Carol Miller. They first met when they both worked on radio station 95.5 WPLJ. Goodman has one daughter from a subsequent relationship and is currently married to Jill Goodman. Career Radio Goodman started in radio at rock station 93.3 WMMR Philadelphia in 1978 and later became the music director of the station. KerPlunk (game)
KerPlunk is a children's game invented by Eddy Goldfarb with Rene Soriano and first marketed by the Ideal Toy Company in 1967. The game consists of a transparent plastic tube, plastic rods called ''straws'' (normally 26 to 30 in total and of various colours – yellow and red predominantly) and several dozen marbles. The base contains four separate numbered trays and the straws are passed through holes in the middle of the tube to form a lattice. The marbles are then placed in the top of the tube and held in place by the lattice. The onomatopoeic name of the game derives from the sound of the marbles tumbling to the base of the tube during play. At the start of play, the entire tube is rotated so that a hole in the base of the tube is aligned with the active player's tray. Players take turns removing a single straw from the tube while trying to minimize the number of marbles that fall through the web and into their tray. The show was a creation of Mark Goodson-Bill Todman Productions. The show began on radio as ''Time's A-Wastin in 1948, hosted by Bud Collyer, and changed its name to ''Beat the Time'' on January 5, 1949.
